Totally different cars, the R26R is so light and chuckable while I M3 is a heavy old beast but massive amounts of low down grunt. My first RWD car so looking forward to some sideways fun.
Brilliant engines Steve, Bombproof if looked after, One of the best N/A engines ever built IMO. Bags of torque as well for an N/A lump, I went out with a mate in his semi stripped one on a track day while mine was getting a break and was genuinely surprised by how well it pulled and theres always something special about being able to rev it out to 8k
I do love these and yours looks good but I'm never sure about the interior colour. Also, is it right that the brakes aren't that great as standard? I've never driven one or even been in one to be honest.
Looking good. As others have said totally different car to the meg but a lot more refined. I could drive about in mine all day quite easily. See you over on m3 cutters then...... lee
Make sure you check the rear subframe for cracks, practically all of these suffer from the same problem. Great engines too but the VVT can go up the wall at great expense, not bombproof by any means.
Bombproof if looked after, A friend has one with 170k on it now and it gets thrashed on trackdays all over including the Ring. Keep up with Oil/Filter changes as thats one of the things that causes the Vanos (VVT you refer to) to go.
Only problem so far is that it seems to attract a lot of dickheads. I have had so many cars up my chuff in the last few days it is unreal. I just pull over and let them all past.
