Hi Guys Had a random thought the other day and wondered if this was even possible / had been done before ... could you have it so that "sport mode" came on when the start button was pressed and ignition happened? or even shortly after .. maybe once the car checks had been OK'd Speaking with one of the RS reps, it seems the 275 trophy doesn't have access to the full power until the sport button is depressed. It then boosts from the 250 to the 275 (ish) BHP. Now, obviously you can just press the button every time you get in the car if thats your thing but it would be far easier if the car did this for you in some manner (call me lazy if needs be). Anyway, just wondered if this had been done before or was actually a viable idea? If so, how would one go about it? If this is not the right sub forum, apologies, just seemed to make sense to be under electrical. Cheers guys Tom
Is this for the increased power or for the actual Sport ESP mode? If its the first, just get it mapped, then you have more power all the time. Saying that i think RST can do switchable maps with the sport button, IE have it on stock power or slightly more on normal then full on the sport mode. If i get Paul to map mine in the future with the Hybrid then thats the route i think i will go down with a Low boost with 300bhp or so on normal then High boost running 350/360bhp
I hadn't really thought that far ahead or more than "could it be done" but I guess both; the power and actual throttle mapping (to whatever setting had been last, like normal). I guess in my mind, I would like the exact experience / output that you would get from pressing the button .. but without pressing it. I'll contact RST though and see what they think .. or even if its worth it. As you say, it may be cheaper to just get a remapping done. Cheers
it's the same on the 265.. 250hp in normal mode.. the 265 and 275 has different maps for the two modes, so you an choose to alter one or both of them..
I'd have thought it should be possible to change it so that the high power mode is on by default and you have switch to the lower power map using the button fairly simply for somebody.
I find the throttle response in sport mode isn't great for everyday driving. Brilliant when your boosting but a bit jerky round the town. Probably why it's on a button.
