250 RS250 starting problems!

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by GazRS250, Dec 12, 2014.

  1. I've had this for a few weeks now, had to have a new clutch and clutch slave cylinder fitted and it seems to have gotten worse after!

Basically when I try and start the engine it struggles to turn over and no dials move until about 3-5 seconds after the engine has started.

Also I had noticed when lifting off the accelerator the car judders quite violently, and also kangaroos at slow speeds in low gears, this has only happened since the clutch etc. has been changed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance

  2. Bad earth possibly, is this a 225/R26 or a 250?

  3. Its a 250

Was the Flywheel not changed as well?

  5. How you know it's a 250, is it in the title lol

  6. Not had the timing belt changed have you?

  7. Not had the flywheel changed nor the timing belt, going to try my mates battery in it tomorrow and see it that does anything as mine died a few weeks ago, still doesn't explain the juddering though?

Sounds like an issue with the clutch/flywheel tbh.

Who done it? I would be taking it back and getting them to rectify it, at their cost.

  9. Sorted the starting problem, was the battery! Just popped a new one in! Got the car from volvo and I've got warranty on it so the clutch etc was covered, will be taking it back to see what they say! Thanks for the advice though!

  10. Yeah, I was going to suggest a power issue - battery or earth.
    Glad you have it sorted.
I have disabled auto lights.etc on mine as I don't like the sudden power demand when the car is starting.etc

  11. Do your lights stay on when starting then? Mine turn off whilst cranking and come back once it has started.

  12. Quick question, the check vehicle message has just come on in my car, scanned with obd2, nothing came up, anyone have any ideas?
