I've found one...

  1. Looks like there's a bit of wear on the driver's seat edge (quote common, bur avoided if you're careful).

The wheels look like they're been curbed a bit but the car itself looks nice. I'd look to get some money knocked off that though, it's quite high for a 250, I'd be looking for under 12k.

  2. 10k car that, 250s are worth peanuts

  3. £14k? No chance

  4. Yes I know it's top end money, but I was sort of working on the basis of knocking a him down a couple of grand. Can't seem to find one with roughly that spec for much less than 13k on Pistonheads, ebay or auto trader, where are you seeing £10k fully loaded 250's with under 30k miles on the clock?

  5. I would be very interested to see where you could get a car of that calibre for £10k!

Car looks great other than the issues highlighted above, wheels and seat wear. I would be tempted to offer £11500 and see if he bites with it being this time of year.

  6. It is nice example. I would go for it. I paid for mine £15k with 34k miles just over 10 months ago. I have sunroof and sat nav but no Recaros, just leather. Bear in mind, I found mine at Renault dealer, so was little bit more pricey than average.
If you like it, go for it.

Nice spec but wow thats pricey, I paid less than that 2 years ago for mine with 12k on the clock....

  8. I'd be walking down someone's drive near to Christmas day with a pile of cash.

Show up on my drive with 10k cash and i would even fill the tank for you and give you lunch.

  10. £9900 and a drink to go with the lunch

people always seem to get hung up on price, at the end of the day it's a Reno that's going to continue loosing money 10k is bottom end now but for what your after I'd say 11-12k should see you in a good car.

  12. If you've got the cash then you'll get a bargain, if not then you'll always pay over the odds at a garage with them being able to offer finance, wages to pay for

  13. Yes I'm hoping the time of year will play into my favour, although I was enquiring with a dealership the other day how much they would knock off a 13.5k one and they said they would struggle to chip £250 quid off. Hmm. I got offered £1500 for my DC2 Integra as a sweetener though!

Surely you will be better off selling the DC2? Not the sort of car i would be P/X'ing tbh

  15. I'll give you 2k for your DC2 right now, we can meet up and I'll give you the cash

    Decent offer tbf.

  17. No it's a far too specialist car to p/x with a normal dealer, they just asked if I was part-ex ing and I said what I had. I paid three times that about 6 months ago, so no thank you! Just can't believe he couldn't knock £250 off a 13 grand car 3 weeks before xmas!

You'll miss the dc2 bud its more fun than any Meg.

  19. Stop it. Just stop it! I know. I just need a more all round user-friendly car in my life right now and the Meg fits the bill, so does the Astra VXR, Mazda MPS, Alfa 147 GTA, Audi S3 etc, but I just have a bit more of an affinity for bonkers French hatchbacks

  20. Egg please expand on this for me ??? share with me why a DC2 is more fun than any meg , new to this forum and interested why you think that mate

  21. He won't be able to explain, I love my 106 rallyes but once I jumped into a meg I've realised they're on another planet, I've been in plenty of dc2s and they're very fun but not even close to modern equivalents like the megane, just another league now and you also have a nice place to sit in too instead of a shoe box

To answer your question your best off driving a dc2 but I'll try explaining mate. The feel you get through the steering wheel is amazing you can feel the grip and the lsd finding grip it's a wonderful feeling. The double wishbone suspension works wonders. The seating position is perfect and the recaros are the most comfy seats ever. The b18c is the best vtec hand build engine and revs to nearly 9krpm. The dc2 is very light weight at just over a tonne and handles like a dream.
The dc2 is a pure drivers car.

  23. Ok anyone willing to lend/hire me a DC2 for the afternoon lol, cheers for your explanation and opinion egg, having not driven one I cant offer mine yet

  24. Allow me to explain if I may...

    How it makes you feel...jpeg

They're something special mate. The megane with LSD is a fecking great car as well though and handles great but just sounds a bit naff and feels numb at the wheel in comparison though.

  26. Well they say picture paints a thousand words ROFL

  27. Clam,

Were you on the Subaru P1 owners club? I thought I recognised the name.

My brother has recently bought an R26 and it is fantastic. I was very surprised by the handling and performance. So much so I think the Subaru bug is gone from me and I will get a Megane next. I sold my P1 a couple of years ago.

I've not driven a gen 3 Megane and would be interested to hear how it compares to the P1.

DC2's do have something properly special about them, So much more charismatic and an event when you drive them, Can't beat a screaming N/A down a back road either

  29. "They've found me....I don't know how but they've found me - RUN MARTY!"

Yes I was, had two P1's, great car - I always said it's the only Impreza I would own and I was lucky enough to have an uprated 400 bhp one and a completely standard one. Standard one is miles better 95% of the time, crazy one 5% - for that one day with a perfect road and the sun is out.

  30. If somebody knocks on my door on xmas day with a bag of peanuts, they can take away my full fat cup chassis 250 with every option, full service history and 40k miles. Mapped by RS -tuning in Leeds to 315bhp' 4 brand new PS2's, brand new discs and pads alround. Really sorry that it has a stereo and windows made of glass and isn't the much coveted R26R. But as stated by an R26 owner, these cars are only worth peanuts so the first one round my place with a bag of nuts takes it. Dry roasted preferred.

    Address?

  32. Open doors :-) I am outside waiting with dry roasted peanuts.

  33. I'm not giving you a full bag. Come on.

  34. Going to see a different one on Saturday with a view to buy if all is well. Its a white FF with cup has less miles, but no xenons and leather electric sport seats instead of recaros. Both those options were in my 'not overly fussed' category. It's on the 18" instead of 19" which I would prefer.

It's up for £13.7k but apparently it's mint. We'll see. It's also been lady owned from new who seems like a bit of a petrolhead who takes care of her cars and she says she is loath to sell it but aged parents and difficulty in their old age have made her decide to get a 4 door Alfa Guiletta. Fair enough.

Only thing is it's got outstanding finance on it and she says she's paying it off tomorrow and will provide proof of this on Saturday when I view it. I will be buying it if I'm happy with it, but will probably want to ring the finance company as well as seeing the paper proof.

  35. Well looks like I won't be viewing this tomorrow, the finance is still outstanding on it despite the seller's insistence it will be cleared today. Nothing like being messed around is there?

  36. Just hang out there mate, one that suits you will pop up for sale!
I've just paid £11500 for mine it's an FF too and I've had it a week now but I was looking for at least a month, best decision I've made.

  37. Hi Bumblebee.Dont knock it. Thats a lovely car you have there.

  38. Right, well the seller has contacted me and said she has paid the remaining finance but renault finance have said it won't show on their system until Monday. I called them myself and they confirmed that it won't show up until Monday.

The seller has said she is happy to show me her transaction details & reference numbers tallying up for the finance agreement and the payment of it from her bank account. Or she said I can wait until official confirmation on Monday. She sounds perfectly genuine, so do I go tomorrow and double check all the details to ensure she has paid off the finance or wait until Monday? Only problem is I can't pick it up in the week, or next weekend.
