It's now official, Jamie and Din should be excluded from all 275 conversation. I think someone who owns one has ran off with their missus
You can get crackers good lease deals on the Golf R if thats your thing. £167+vat / mo for 10k miles / year.
That's a great example of how little relevance the rrp has on a lot of cars these days. There are deals to be had. Unless of course you can buy a new car outright :-0 major jealousy from me!
most people with 30k disposable income are looking at 3ok down then 30k financed on porsches etc or a gtr i find it staggering someone with that spare cash would buy a megane outright. The notion of if you want something save for it is a little old fashioned in my oppinion, otherwise non of you would own a house.
I agree entirely but do have some respect for those that buy things outright. But your right if I had that cash kicking around I would be looking at 911's .....which is probably why I will never have that kind of cash :-/ lol
I've worked dam bloody hard over the 17 years owning my own business I'm 45 now, 300k 4 bed detached house with hardly any mortgage left as I've over paid for quite a while, I think my council tax is the biggest bill , just call me old fashion but I just prefer to buy out right, if I sell it the cash is all mine, the R just sits in the garage till a track day and it's losing nothing which is nice but I'll be having a 911 turbo next which I know will lose money but I've prommised myself one for years, a treat for working so hard and it's been my favourite car since I ever set eyes on one.
Getting back to the discussion of value against others such as the Golf R and the Leon Cupra 280, for that matter, the Megane is not necessarily as pricey as you may think. I've ordered a trophy 275 which will be delivered around the time of the 15 plate registration. I initially went for just the folding mirrors and oyster grey paint, with almost all the other options pre-selected. I was quoted £25,400 with a part exchange value of my 10 plate, white, cup packed FF 250 of £12,300. I went to Seat and was quoted around £30,500 for a leon cupra 280 with what I felt were reasonably basic options. The part ex offer they made for my megane was £9,800. When I've priced up a Golf R, it quickly shoots thousands past £30k. Further to that, Renault have offered 0% finance over 4 years with nil deposit - I could even get the cash value of my 250 and pay the whole lot on that 0% deal. The difference is then that the Megane quote for me is £13,100 + my car, whereas the Leon is about £20,700 + my car + steep interest on any finance. The 275 Trophy is simply a much better deal.
Good choice pal It's e little touches for me that Renaultsport do, better seats than the golf full titanium exhaust optional ohlins you don't get that type of exclusivity with a seat that looks like the diesel version or a golf that costs 35k plus
Excellent choice of spec - same as mine The deal you mentioned above, I guess this is for a tradition HP deal rather than PCP, for the 0%?
Ah thought it may have, There was a photo of a batch of Ti downpipes on another RS forum, Thought it may of been for the Trophy's
poor. surely if their trying to sell a car at the exact same price as a brand new one then they wouldnt drive it around. stone chips/ tyre wear/ extra miles... im only wanting to use it for a test drive then il go through to sheffield to discuss a brand new one
I went for a look at it a few week ago and it already had over 500 miles on it, shopping bag on the back seat, sunglasses on dash and matts were dirty great way to sell a 'new' car
Sounds like a load of bullshit then. Surely this would be the dearest car they have, and yet they aren't trying to sell it at all?
Harrats Wakefields sales dept. is a joke. I've heard numerous peoples experiences there and been in myself to talk about ordering a new 265 back when I was looking and they couldn't sell insulin to diabetics.
It doesn't hurt to brake them in gentle it's personal preference. The engine will have been put through its paces before its put in the car !
So guys realistically what price do I want to be asking to pay for this car. Its at 30.700 which is the exact price as a new one with the same options and Renault are giving 15% off new models. 25k I'd say?
25k or a bit less At the end of the day it's a used car now ! But I bet you they won't sell you it for no less than 28k !
