Hamilton vs Rosberg title fight

  1. It's pretty obvious that Lewis will win the world championship in my mind but:

I think he's lost the 'crown' of fastest driver over a single lap. I know he's got the pressure of winning the DC upon him but even so Rosberg has had the measure of him in qualy lately.

It could be argued that the pressure has made LH a touch conservative in his approach whereas Nico has nothing to lose but I don't buy that. Lewis goes for it all the time, even if that means he leaves a little on the table in terms of tyres or engine or 'attack' - until Sunday afternoon. Having said that, I'm sure Nico does the same.

Lewis likes to compare himself to Senna, even if only in his own mind. This season has ruined that for him in my mind. Senna destroyed his team mates in qually - not happening for Lewis. Amongst drivers I'm sure this is the ultimate goal.

This season reveals a perfect view of what we were robbed of in the 2000-04 era, when Schumacher insisted in preferential treatment at Ferrari rather than fair & open racing with his team mate. Kudos to Mercedes.

  2. Put LH in Marussia or Caterham car to see how quick he is. F1 is not fair sport, 90% depends of car.
Choosing between Mercedes drivers I think LH is slightly quicker than NR. Mercedes provided the best car, Hamilton is quicker than Rosberg, so according to F1 rules title should go LH, however double points may change situation.

  3. I'm not overly sure anyone can say Lewis has the championship won especially with this ridiculous double points scenario ahead. We may still see him be robbed by a reliability issue yet which would be aweful considering Lewis has won 10 races to nicos 4.

Defiantly think Mercedes should be praised for letting their drivers race. The main reason I can't stand Ferrari is their preferential treatment of a driver .

Brazil has never been a great circuit for Lewis mind and can't wait to see what happens after today's race .

  4. Fair enough Nico is putting a lap together better than Lewis at the moment but I wouldn't say he is "quicker" than Lewis, he's yet to win a wheel-to-wheel fight......

  5. I don't rate this double points, Lewis could win 11 races and still lose the championship, how can that be right

  6. It is nothing compared to situation in WRC, where it was planned to introduce "shootout" on a last special stage.

If it wasn't for the double points on the last race, if Lewis wins today, he would win the championship. I'm pretty sure even Riciardo can win the championship with double points as well. It's all going to come down to the last race and because Lewis and Nico seem to end up starting p1 and p2, it will be who ever wins that race.

  8. Have to take into account how a drivers style suits the car. In senna's era, the driver had a much greater influence on the car.
Rosberg seems to be able to get more out over a single lap, but his tyre and fuel usage is consequently higher so Hamilton is faster when it really counts.
No one on the grid is comparable to Senna. But Alonso and Hamilton are the class of the field.

  9. I think they should strip it back a little, it's all about who has the most money now, it's so boring and too technical

  10. watching moto gp at the mo, its miles better than F1, until a way is found to even out the costs and money in F1, it will always be about who has the most of it. I hope lewis wins but i feel the double points will feck him up.

  11. It's always been about money. Those that reminisce about the good old days weren't there!

But the cars are so tied down, that the chance for a minnow to discover a great driver and challenge for wins is effectively zero.

Big fat slicks, neutralise some of the aero. That would improve things.
