removing door bullets and door handles for painting

Discussion in 'Exterior & Bodywork' started by wardyworld, Nov 2, 2014.

  1. Hi,

I've done a search and can't find anything (apart from the guide on replacing a faulty door button switch)

Before I go and break something, I want to remove the door bullets and the door handles to go to the body shop for spraying dark grey to match the wheels and door mirrors.

Anyone tell me how to do this? If you have pics, that would be great.

    Thanks,

    Adam

  2. Don't worry - I've done some more searching and think I know what to do

  3. Can you share which thread mate? I wanna do this too.

  4. Yeah - sure, in the howto section the thread on fixing the door locking switches shows most of it, enough to get you started at least.

Regarding the bullets, I think there is a gromit at the same height on the door when open, remove gromit and take out a screw then slide the bullet off OR you just pull them off, I'm not sure but investigation of the options should reveal which is correct.

If anyone wants to jump in and push us both in the right direction, please do!

    Cheers,

    Adam
