Hi guys, im new to this business, never done a track day before just wondered what a beginners day at bedford will cost me, i know theres the track fee of about 129, got goodyear f1 ass tyres (235 40 18) theres about 6mm left all round... got all round good life left in brake discs and all pads are all new (brembo pads front and back). ill need to borrow a helmet cause i dont own my own so i know thats £10. besides fuel and dinner/drinks on the day is there anything else ill need? am i likely to go through 6mm of tyre in 1 track day?? thanks guys.
Hi I do quite a few track days, do 20 minute stints on track, come in take a break for half hour or so, keep tyre temps at around 32-36 all round, check wheel bolts before going out every time as they can come loose with heat, try not to brake for too longer periods of time, brake short and hard will help with pad transfer to discs especially on standard pads, be better with DS2500s up front, good luck and have fun
I've done lots of track days in my old typeR and would say you will destroy those tyres if it's a dry day and you pushing hard.
Exactly what Steve has said, take your time and have fun and if you can, get some track tuition if it's available. Enjoy!
Don't think he will be pushing hard, it's his 1st track day, spend most of the morning learning the lines, tuition will be the best £20 you'll spend, better than any mod you'll add to your car
Oh yes the WARM UP lap, from pits to just before the 1st corner is ample to get things warmed up lol hi Carl
yeah theres a £20 quid option i like to think im lewis hamilton on the roads but i bet i get on track and its a WHOLE new game... thanks for advice guys all seems fair
