265 Ktec induction kit

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by Mike265cup, Oct 2, 2014.

  1. Anyone on here running this and give me any info ie if it's any good etc?

  2. I have it fitted to my 250. It is pretty loud at first but it has seemed to quieten down a bit now. Either that or I'm just getting used to it.

I'm not sure if it has improved the cars performance, if so its only minimal. It definitely doesn't seem to have made it worse.

It is an absolute pig to fit because you have to take the battery box out to remove the old air box.

The kit is really well made and fits perfectly.

So far I have no complaints.

  3. I doubt there are any gains whatsoever, if it's just induction noise your after then save yourself £200 and pull the sound proofing foam out of the original air box, sounds pretty much the same.

  4. Spot on mate cheers for the info.
I've already got the foam out and I'm running a pipercross. I know there's not much gain to be had, if any, I just fancy something different. Providing it isn't going to lose me power.

  5. It does look very well made but I just think it's quite a lot of cash for some noise.

Not knocking anyone for wanting to be a little different but it just winds me up that some companies make these claims of xxxbhp gains and then are unable to provide proof.

  6. Pulling the foam out does help but unless you have the radio off you can't really hear it

and I think it sounds pretty good by naths video he did

had to drive my brothers Leon cupra k1 yesterday and now that's what I call noise so much better than the meg ,the zorst and induction was unreal I blew about £20 worth of petrol just pottering about listening to the noise

  7. I totally agree, I don't understand why they can't just be honest. At the end of the day if someone wants it then they will buy it regardless.

  8. Any links to the video, I can't find it?

  9. Just bought a medium 70mm ram air cone filter, 70mm 90 and 45 degree bend ( dont know which to use yet) and 70mm joiner, cost no more then £60.

  10. caf??

  11. Cold air feed

  12. Yes it does. That stays in place and slots in to the bottom. There is chance that it could come loose over time because it isn't actually attached to anything. But it is easy to wedge it in its original location.

  13. Ah nice one, think I'll get one ordered

  14. Do it. You won't regret it.

  15. Do you have a video from inside driving by any chance?

  16. Sorry, I don't I'm afraid.

  17. No worries cheers for the info.
