http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/honda-civic-type-r-revealed-2014-09-29 I think it looks pretty cool but still think they have tamed it down a little too much from the concept car they previewed, although it does stay pretty close. I also thought it would have had more power than it's ended up with; the norm being around 300bhp (ish). No price band announced but I would of thought around £30k+ ... RS275 Trophy territory. I know which one I would rather have (and am having! ) Thoughts?
This, as far as I know, is the final release pictures. Its certainly the ones all the press are now using for the car. Yep, Honda official twitter is using them as this is how the final car will look: https://twitter.com/Honda_UK/status/516504182644555776/photo/1
Will be the bollocks if it looks like that, the twitter still says 'concept' though. Lose the decals too. on a side note, be interested to see the ringtime vs the meg 275. All comes down to handling with power basically the same!
It doesnt look like that if it does ill have one if it look like this then no http://www.gtspirit.com/2014/09/04/production-spec-honda-civic-type-r-possible-snapped/
exactly. Such a shame really as thats probably what itll look like and that front end is BLAND! we will soon find out released at paris this week, the actual model right?
I don't think they would release all of these new "concept" press release pictures, so close to the Paris show where they should be showing the final design in the flesh ... only for that to be completely different?!?! That wouldn't make any business sense as it would be one massive disappointment lol. Sure, show a concept last year, whet the appetite etc but this and so close to a proposed release (yeah I know, its still a year) I think (read: hope) that this is the real thing
its only 276bhp cause japanese manufactured cars have to be capped at 280bhp if i remeber correctly. will be ineterestig with the extra rev range and how the diff will help with torque steer.
In 1988, JDM cars were limited by voluntary self-restraints among manufacturers to 280 horsepower (PS) (276 hp) and a top speed of 190 km/h (118.1 mph), limits imposed by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA) for safety. The horsepower limit was lifted in 2004 but the speed limit of 190 km/h (118.1 mph) remains in effect. Many JDM cars have speedometers that register up to 180 km/h (111.8 mph) (certain Nissans go up to 190 km/h, and the GT-R has a mechanism that removes the speed limiter on a track) but all have speed limiters.
Thats only in Japan though isn't it.. I'm sure European models don't have the speed limiter set that low... As for the CTR I quite like it... but it looks a little long... take it they won't make a 3 door!
This is what it will look like and it's ehhhhh horrible!! Nothing like the concept on the top gear page.
I'm going to hold judgement until we see the final thing ... concept images = awesome, spy photos = meh ... reality = ?
