Blyton Park - 26th Oct

Discussion in 'Track Days & Track Driving' started by Tubes, Sep 18, 2014.

  1. Myself and Dave (of the 'super clean trackday machine' variety) are doing Blyton along with a few other people I know. Anyone else fancy it? £129 via Javelin.

  2. Yeah it's a Sunday. Get yourself booked on!

There's a couple of lads in 182's and a lad in an imprezza that we know that have booked.

  3. I cant tell your getting excited already tubes!

    Lets hope its dry.

    Dave

  4. Its a really fun little circuit mate. Flat with good visibility and a good mix of high speed and tight turns. I've got a vid from last time I was there which I'll upload later for you to check out.

    Dave

  5. It was originally an airfield track but they have since surfaced it and added curbs etc so it is deemed as a circuit. Have a look at some videos on Youtube.

Fighting temptation to book another before hand!

  6. Anglesey 3rd of October , loads of us going

  7. And that's a cracking track

  8. I do mate yeh, also fancy donington on the same day but were going to lanzorate on the 26th josh so can't do either

  9. Blyton is a bit meh compared to a proper track. I prefer Mallory to blyton.

  10. Steve... What's ya plan for Anglesey? You guys staying over Thursday? And travelling back Saturday?

  11. Staying over thurs night driving back Friday after track day mate

  12. Sweet... Who's it through mate?

  13. Would love to do Anglesey, in fact myself and Dave only discussing it last weekend but that will have to wait next year for me, it's going to be a overnight jobbie and the lot. May take a trip through Wales too.

  14. Javelin glen, cracking track and matters not if it's wet or not as it's got massive run offs that's why we leave it till late in the year, one of my favourite tracks glen

  15. Just turn up on the day, loads of us their to give you pass laps

  16. I guess you could look at it like that, but then it's a a lot cheaper too. Did consider doing the Eastern circuit at Blyton but a few others had already booked so we hopped on the bandwagon.

Hopefully do Oulton in December when my brothers back from Afghan before I tuck the car up for winter.

Is Mallory Leicester way? What's it like any good? Who Do you book it through as javelin don't do it I'm sure.

  17. It's just a long way Steve! And if I was going I would be wanting to take the Meg and on track too.

  18. No problem, offer is their though

  19. Cheers Steve.

  20. Thanks for the offer steve. If not this year then next for sure.

  21. Anyone else fancy this? It's looking quite quiet at the minute which suits me and I know 6 drivers of the 12 booked on so should make for a good day.

Yes dude got a black r26 it was listed on gumtree the same day I bought it  paid 3400 it's a high miler but in perfect nik.

Compared to the astra it's a bit disappointing apart from the diff that is. But I'm planning some changes so should liven things up

  25. You saw Dave Taylor there then josh

    I missed this one

  27. Which track layout did you do ? I enjoyed it when I went ..

  28. Yeah its not the most scenic, undulating and challenging/rewarding track but its a good track for a novice and those wanting to test their cars and can be fun. Blyton was my first trackday in the Megane and I had plenty of changes to this car which I had to try out and get the car setup and I wanted to do it with relatively low risk. Some of lads we were with were on their first or second time on a track so it was ideal for them too.

I will try and fit one more in this year, probably at Oulton and that will be it until April I reckon.
