Just checking the oil. started the car to check all ok in the bay and this part (dead centre, grey capped) starting ticking really hard, the whole line, hasnt stopped. What is it? Is that what its meant to do? gona go for a drive see if it goes.
The grey thing itself is a non return valve, either for vacuum/boost or some form of fuel line, can't quite see where it goes. Could be breather or emissions related?
Not sure, it attaches to the big round metal thing underneath...have a look at yours for me when u get a minute, its still clicking away like mad after a 30min drive.
The grey bit is a plug end on a return pipe by the looks of it attached to a pressure regulator on the fuel rail.
Dont know if its same thing but my car also clicks like mad once turned off can hear it near the left side ;never opened bonnet sure ive read its normal
Heres two more photos, any better idea now? found that two of the bolts are weeping oil very slightly so im gona get it in renault next week to get sorted so ill get them to check the clicking thing too i guess!
I don't think that's what's giving the ticking.. It looks like a fuel line connector that isn't connected to anything electrical..
That's the fuel feed pipe from the tank, onto the pressure regulator. It will possibly be the injectors you can hear ticking as they open/close
So it's normal then? Sorry if I'm being stupid. Iv never heard a noise like it on any other car. It's just a constant tick/click noise
Item dead centre is the fuel return line quick release connector. The mushroom thing is the fuel pressure regulator which also acts as a pulsation damper. It should not tick with the engine off but if the engine is running, it may tick but i'm sure the injector tick is even louder. The black solenoid valve on the right side strut tower is the tank venting valve. On my 2012 265 it did tick for about 5-10mins after i turned the engine off. My 2014 265 doesn't tick at all.
