Hi People, So just shopping around for parts to give my 225 F1 a good service and i would like to know what you would recommend out for the Engine Oil and Spark Plugs. Generally i wll shop on Eurocarparts or S C Motor factors as they are really close and easy. Take this as money is no option (not that im rich or anything ). Aslo if anyone knows how much oil i will need to once maggie is drained would be great. cheers for your help and advise in advance.
Hey Husky, if your after a no expense option i'd go for silkoline pro s(ester based oil) think its called Fuchs Titan Race now though. You'l need around 5.5 litres. Opie oils is generally pretty good for consumables if you use the code MEGANE you'l get 10% off to, although they normally have deals running anyway. If you do get that oily ou can try the code TITANRACE as that gave 20% off but may have run out yesterday. Although i just tend to use any fully synthetic oil that matches the specs, I used shell helix ultra last time as it was on offer, and no complaints from me although i do tend to change the oil every 6k or so. For spark plugs contact ads on here for genuine oem plugs which are around £25 quid for a set. I know he was doing oil stupidly cheap(either 1p or £1 for 5litres) a while back if you bought certain things (possibly a service kit) with it and that was Renault approved for the meg. I'd also look into replacing the gearbox oil if i were you as Renault say there filled for life and don't need oil changes so it may have never been changed. 2.1 litres officially but 2ltrs normally does the box as you can never drain it all out
Theres also an offer on opie at the moment for millers nanodrive which is brilliant buy a five litre and get a one litre for free costs about 57 when i bought sone a week or so ago with the code as above on the sparks apaarently oem are the best to buy
Hi Eggcakes and jjones82, Thank you very much for the replys. I have emailed ads regarding other parts so maybe he can also sort me out with the bits above. I will be grabbing this all when im back from Canada. Are the OEM sparks Iridian tipped by any chance, as i know of this burns hotter and is better a igniting the Fuel. Cant wait to get the old girl back to life.
I'll be keeping an eye on this thread as I'd like to service mine next month when I'm back from holiday, was thinking Shell Helix Ultra then order all plugs/filters etc from ADS then get Mark Black to work his magic.
Hi 123HJMS, i was also thinking Shell Helis Ultra as its easy to pickup from my local Eurocar parts. Am going to have a look for Fuchs Titan Race as suggested by jjones, am looking to get maggie on the track for a day so could do with the best. Dose antone know makes the Renault OEM Sparks e.g. Bosch, NGK
They are ngk. They are an awkward part number that is mega money in most places, but they are about £28 delivered from ads on here. Mine arrived next day.
Cheers Smegal, Look at my terrible grammer lol "Dose antone know makes the Renault OEM Sparks e.g. Bosch, NGK" Could have writen that better.
Yeah I'm going for the shell I think mate, it's on offer at euro cp atm as well. 6 litres is quite cheap delivered. Just don't get the spark plugs from euro as they always supply the wrong ones, the ones to fit the megane are quick a rare fitment I believe.
The shell is a little cheaper on carparts4less. They are a sister company of eurocarparts just a little cheaper
Nice suggestion about it,i like it so much so by this i am also get help to choose the different one and better one.I am also using it and its good than other. Its of better quality and with good results, nice sharing.
