Golf 7 R

  1. Fair play Josh, nothing wrong with your choice it's a great car. Sure you'll love it.

  2. I checked Golf 7 R online. Suspension seemed be nearly the same like in GTD/GTI (worse handling then RS250/265), basic kit is rather poor, with expensive options. It looks ordinary, apart of rear part which looks funny with 4 exhausts.
It depends of personal preferences, however I wouldn't pay so much for that car. Why don't you consider new Impreza WRX/STI? It seems to be similar prices but looks better, and I believe drives better then uprated Golf.

  3. Congrats I bet your excited now, looking forward to seeing how you can live with it compared to the megane.

  4. Good stuff, enjoy the Megane while it lasts. Im sure you'll enjoy the Golf when it comes.

    Did you get to see a 3dr and a 5dr ?

I've always prefer the look of the 5dr GTi's and R's

  5. I wasnt fussed with changing but the deal came up on the golf. You won't get a impreza for the same money I'm gonna be paying on the golf on lease.
It comes with everything I want or need in a car and I wasn't going to pay £60 per month just to have a bit of leather.
It handled very well when I drove it didn't seem a lot different to the megane very planted.

It doesn't look as special as the meg but that's something I'll have to live with and hence why I have gone for a lairyish colour.

  6. Yeah the one I drove was 5 door with the optional wheels. I haven't actually seen one in the flesh in 3 door but to me it looks a bit cooler and I don't need a 5 door yet so thought it looked that little bit more sporty. Oh and its lighter :tongueout:.

Once it comes I'll post it next to meg and see what the comparison is!

  7. Enjoy it Josh, im still in three minds the Golf, Audi or the 275 Trophy.

  8. Maybe it's the DSG but I drove an S3 and it just didn't seem as fun, no occasion to it. Very fast, lots of grip though an obviously synthetic engine noise.

Didn't do it for me at all, though I can appreciate why people go for that. Wish the Meg had the same interior though!

  9. New WRX STI costs 28k, but if you have got good deal for Golf and it meets your needs go for it. Good luck.

  10. Cheers I do agree, when I drove it it felt on a par with the megane to be honest. I had a 307 as my first car then a prev generation meg 175 dci and now the 250 so I feel like its time to change to german and see what its like.
I do like the 275 though! After the two year lease I could go back to megs who knows 275 trophies will be cheap by then :tongueout:.

Just realised I quoted the wrong one my bad!
Its a tough call but drive all of them and see what you think. I am not sure what the S3 can offer over the R to be honest tho as its still pretty understated.

  11. Fair play going for it. Be interested for an honest view vs the 250 when you get it!

i would have gone for the 275 and ohlins if i were you, but i hope you enjoy the golf!

  12. Yeah it will be interesting to be honest! I would have done if I could get one on lease for the cheap price I am getting the golf but it would be nowhere near!

  13. Cheers mate, like i said me cars in on 19th for its 24000 service, il get a quote for the 275 trophy with ohlins and 19s and take it from there, if i cant get it priced blow a golf or s3 il start looking and sorting out test drives.

  14. When do you get the Golf? Can I ask how much the lease is per month?
