First things first, can you fit an entire R26 intrior inclduing Recaro's into a 175 with the back seats, if the answer is yes, how easy are they to fit to a 175? Thanks!
No need to get the air bag lights turned off. The recaros already have resistors fitted. Ive fitted recaros in my dci. Just unbolt the old seats and bolt the recaros in. 10 mins per side.
not always the case, I had to have mine turned off in my cup. and you want to keep the pre tensioners working too.
My seats where out of a r26 f1. They have 100% a resistor fitted in the side airbag plug from the factory, its wrapped in a rubber cover. If the recaros come with the seat belt pre tensioners fitted they just bolt in no problem. I went through all these doubts through a lack of posts on the subject in the megane forums. So I took advice off the clio forums and got myself to maplin and bought some resistors. I got home, flipped the recaro upside down and undid all the protective wraping off the loom under the seat, to try and suss out which wires the resistor needed to be fitted into. Then i noticed a resistor was already fitted. its hidden in a small rubber bag. 100% fitted from the factory as my seats where taken straight out of a r26.
I too had seats out of an r26 and can assure you I did need to have the airbags turned off to clear the fault.
can't remember off the top of my head but we needed to turn the airbags off before it would reset and clear the fault and this was on both sides. did your seats come from an r26 or a cup that may have fitted the resistors extra?
Main dealer told me you can't turn the airbags off! I knew they were lying! I have a dodgy wire under the passenger seat (standard, leather) and they wanted £140 to replace the wire. I asked if they couldn't just turn the airbag off and they said it's impossible. I have to wiggle it if the light comes on (usually if there os a bottle rolling around that knocks it). Cheaper than £140 haha.
My seats come directly out of a f1 r26 that had engine failure. The where untouched from the factory (bar the f1 decal on the sub frame) My car is a dci cup lux.
that's weird, mine came from an r26 as far as I know but deffo didn't have any resistors fitted to remove the airbag fault. I wonder if it's something that changed with newer or older cars?
