250 Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta

  1. Has anybody had experience with these tyres?

A friend of mine has some on his e46 m3 and loves them. Anyone tried them on a meg?

  2. Take a look at the Vorti, been quite impressed with mine and I think it's a newer design/compound. Worked pretty well on track too.

  3. I've got these and think there a decent tyre!

  4. I ran these on my 225 cup. I actually had 2 sets. Great tyres IMO

  5. I spoke with guy who has got them for 911 turbo. He said lifespan is not great, about 9k miles.

  6. Had them on the front of the car when I bought it.

Abysmal tyre IMO. Absolutely no grip in the wet, would dangerously understeer.

Swapped them out for some Hankook V12's and more recently Michelin Pilot Sport 2's. Both of which are leagues ahead of the Vreds, the PS2's being the best tyre.

  7. I had them on my Seat Leon Cupra, as Nickson says they are absolutely shocking in the wet, grip well in the dry but not worth the comprimise in the wet.

I have the Michelin Pilot Sport 3 on the megane and they are great tyres, highly recommend

  8. Got them on mine. They are good enough for the money. I like the looks of them too.

  9. I think to buy pair of Dunlop Sport Maxx RT for front axle of my Meg. I have quote for £177 per tyre from local ATS. Do you have any experience with them?

  10. That seems a bit steep! Have a look on love tyres

  11. Really? How much should I expect for them? I don't want to use mobile tyre fitting.

  12. They are £103.63 per tyre on there. They deliver to your house then you take them somewhere to get fitted. Delivery is £8

  13. Ive not long had nankang ns-2's all round as so far so good, feel alot more confident with the car, and theyve got a built in rim protectors that hug the rim very snuggly, and £90 fitted a corner on 19" steevs, not bad money either.

  14. What are these like in the wet?

  15. Not really had chance in the wet yet due to the good weather weve been having. But they do traction well in tight cornering.

  16. http://lovetyres.com/search/tyres/235-35-19

They are £147 at Love Tyres. It is just 3 junctions on M4 away from me. I will try them. Thanks.

  17. Ahh, the £103 was for the 18" cup wheels. Should have realised you were after 19" from your picture

  18. I had the vredstein sessanta's and I thought they were a pretty good all rounder for the money, I've since gone for a set of hankook v12 evo's, they are the same price and perform much better in both wet and dry.

I'd recommend the hankooks personally as they are the same price bar a few pennies!

  19. How about Vredstein's lifespan and wet grip?

  20. There sh*t in the wet!!

  21. Vreds are the most over hyped tyre on the internet. I found the Vorti's slightly better than the Sessanta's. IMO better to stick with Michelins pilot super sports, Goodyear assy 2 or for a slightly cheaper option Fulda Sport Control which are pretty much the same as Goodyear Assy 1's. Although tyres are generally down to personal preference.

  22. So I don't want them.

  23. We'll I've got them on at the moment and think there rubbish I wouldn't get them again personally myself!

  24. Yer good from what ive read

i just got new ps2's for my 18's for £98 a tyre as they were so cheap, otherwise i prob would have got the supersports.

  25. Probably the best all round tyre on the market but I'm not sure about lifespan. Most Michelins are quite long lasting

  26. I've just replaced my sport contact 5s with super sports and they're so much better, really recommend them. Can't comment on life yet but thought the Contis were bad so hopefully these are better

Ive went through a set on the front of my 250 in less than 2.5k miles. Wont be getting them again as road tyres. Might last better on track tbh

  28. blimey, thats good going! I've got a set on the front for Brands GP today ; )

  29. I was using Primacy HP on my Scenic and Primacy 3 on Laguna before. They were good for about 18-20k miles, but with Megane I may forget about this sort of lifespan.

  30. You sure your on about ns-2's and not the ns-2r's, ns-2's are a performance road tyre, and not a track/road tyre like ns-2r's. Ive read the ns-2's are quite long lasting on the road.

Ah yes i am, I assumed you were to, Didn't think anyone would run any of Nankangs other tyres apart from their superb winter ones.

  32. I was recommend them from a friend who had a 250, said they were decent. I wanted them for the rim protector as the contis on the back and the cheapis i had on the front didnt really protect the rim well when mounting kerbs safely. These tyres snug the rim great, and the traction and the grip is good for my style of driving, for the more experience driver like yourself they may not be good enough, but so far they seemed to stand up well to what ive chucked at them. Cant get the r's in 19" for the megane, not that i was going to get them anyway, and good job aswel if there only lasting 2.5k miles.

Fair enough Ryan, Nice to see someone making their own mind up and trying something different.

I had the NS2 on a set of wheels that i bought for one of my old cars and they seemed impressive for what they were

  34. A few others others have said the same, but was years ago, so the compound maybe different. Still heard good reviews online, compared to nankangs ns-20, which werent so good and some describing as dangerous. Lol. I could of gone for cheaper tyres, but im not that saft.

  35. I will go for Michelin PS2 or Dunlop Sport Maxx RT, depends on price. I would consider Vredestein, but in sunny Britain they wouldn't be very practicable.

  36. I'd agree with I'm not the best of drivers either but Ns2rs are certainly good enough for me and they aren't too expensive I've done over a thousand miles on them still got six mm even though I had a bit of a tracking issue due to a bent rear stub axle which was making the car crab slightly they are certainly twice the tyre of the proxes t1s that were on before only downside IMO is they are slightly noisy

  37. I got Uniroyal RainSport 3 in my 175dCi. In the wet they are perfect. You can hit standing water on the highway and nothing happens, you will not spin the wheels almost anywhere. I'm more than happy with them.
In the dry they are at least as good as the PS2 and PS3. And the price was great too.

  38. yep agree with the above statement
got them on the front of my 225 and cant fault them, nice grip in the dry and awesome in the wet :tongueout:

  39. How about lifespan those Uniroyals? I may consider them, too.
