Can anyone help my mum has a 1.2 clio and its not starting the red light at the top of the dashboard info keeps on flashing which i think is alarm/immobiliser related but I'm not sure ill try uploading a video if someone an explain how thanks for any help
Lol i know that but a lot of people on here cane from clios so might have experienced it and it its my mum after all
I'm fairly certain that light is immobiliser related as you've said. As to what could be causing it, no idea. I've only ever had immobiliser issues when the chip fell out of my 106 GTi key!
If it's an immobiliser fault the red light will remain solid when you turn the key to start position. I doubt it'd be alarm related but for reference on the sport models the alarm is next to the passenger airbag under the dash and can be disabled by simply removing the fuse, once the dash top is removed obviously. Check fuses both inside the car ( passenger door open side of dash ) and under the bonnet ( nearside of engine bay with ribbed fingers on top ).
W reg I have been up today it's something to do with the immobiliser the red light keeps on flashing with the ignition on I pulled a few fuses out and left it 10 minutes then when I fired em all back in it started first time I started it 8 or 9 times in a row thought I'd fixed it but apparently it's back to knackered again I've found online about an immobiliser bypass it seems to plug into the obd slot not sure whether to try one of theese they are 80 quid what I've found
I have a clio at the house ready for me when I'm 17 push the key into the ignition putting pressure on it and it will start
