Picked up my meg 250 on Friday and I've noticed that the keyless entry hardly ever works. The auto lock works fine though when you walk away from the car and beeps. Is there anything I can check/try before I have to take it back to the dealership? Apart from that what an amazing car!!!
So what does not work? Sensor to open the doors? It locks itself when you walk away, but you can't enter the car without pressing button on a card?
You are putting your hand on the handle to allow it to open right? what about when ur in the car, does it start with the key in your pocket?
The button on the handle is for locking the car... If you lock the car using this button, then it wont auto-unlock when you put your hand in the door handle sensor. You need to initially lock the car with the lock button on the keycard, then any times after that the car will unlock when you put your hand in the door handle sensor, and lock when you walk away from the car. Of course, all of this is subject to your car having the keyless start feature.
Most keyless 250's have silver door handles instead of black and there is a small black button on the drivers door handle.
If you lock the car with either the button on the handle or the button on the key card both override the keyless function. You need to walk away after getting out the car and walk away, the car will beep and lock itself, this is now keyless, but as soon as you touch any of the buttons, keyless is disabled.
Not true. If you use door handle button, you still can unlock / access car in keyless mode. If you will use button on a card, then you need to use button on a card again to access car and press start button to get keyless entry "on" again. Chris197f1 - try to press button to open boot. If it will be working, then probably your sensor under door handle is broken.
My handles are colour coded?? Where is the black button ? Actually ON the handle, or on the door behind it?
If you have Keyless card, button is on a top driver door handle, sensors are behind a both door handles.
Just walk away from the car after turnin the engine off, if it beeps and locks, youve got keyless, if not you aint.
Thanks for all the replies. It does appear that the keyless works if I don't lock it myself (I.e using the auto lock feature)
