noise after fitting brakes

  1. Right guys, fitted my new front discs and pads (brembo) on Monday night, gave them a good bedding in following brembos procedure, and today I made the journey from Glasgow to Grantham and the front n/s is making a bitch of a noise really high pitch squeal or ringing like, when I brake the noise goes away then returns when back on throttle, slight turn off the wheel ie changing lanes it goes away, seams to happen when the brakes are hot, we stopped off at services for a bit then once back on the road for a bit the noise came back

when fitting the brakes the pistons moved back in no problem and I gave the calipers a clean with a wire brush, plenty of copper slip on the back of the pads too

    any help is much appreciated

  2. Try taking the pads back out, clean them and put some new copper on them, maybe just the way their sat in the caliper

  3. Good man steve I'll give it a go when I get back up the road, the noise is so annoying really high pitched

  4. I allways put some copper slip round the edge of the pads where they sit in the caliper as well

  5. the only other thing is sometimes the pads are a fraction too big and dont push back. File the edges ( gently ) of the pad metal and see if that helps.

  6. Yeah done that aswell steve, I read somewhere before that folk put some round the edges

  7. Andy thats exactly what it seams like, as thought the pads aren't retracting, once I'm back home I'll get the car back into my work and have a nosey around, i do remember the pads felt a tad tight going in the calliper

  8. sticking piston perhaps?

  9. Pistons moved back in with no problems and I've never had an issue with the noise before, only on fitting the new discs and pads

  10. Do the pads moove freely in te calipers as if it's slightly tight can cause squeekig brakes mate use a file on the edge of the pads that side on the caliper top and bottom bit of greeze

  11. Sorry just read some1 else sai that apologies

  12. Haha cool jamie, top and bottom were greased but I think that my be the issue because they were a little tight going in
