Did a search - surprising little on this! The two manuals that come with the car actually disagree on tyre pressure which is quite a worry. What do people suggest for a mixture of fast road / motorway driving on PS3's?
Recently read an autocar blog. They took their r26 to dieppe and the rsport chaps set the pressures to 2bar on the front, 2.2 rear.
Depends on load index. I think its 37psi front and 30 rear for 95Y tyres. Does your car not have a sticker with the pressures in the driver's door shut? I can take a photo of mine when I get home.
Thank you, I had been looking for this setting and couldn't find it! I agree with the rsport guys, it does make the handling much better. With a lower rear pressure the car doesn't like turning in that well (not really a surprise). If you are going on track don't forget to drop the pressure, the above is for road use only.
No, mine doesn't. The tyres are 91Y btw. The main issue is that the quick reference guide in the handbook conflicts with the big manual!
I've fitted PS3s to the car shortly after buying it. It took about 6 - 7000 miles to take the fronts down to 4mm (from the 7mm PS3s come with), which are now on the back. In this time the rears hardly changed, so not causing high tyre wear at least. The fronts do not look over inflated at that pressure.
I'm not sure actually. I think the R26.R is the only one to have different tyre sizes. I think some people fit 225 instead of 235 because they're cheaper.
