1. Hi Guys thanks for looking,

I had the infamous bonnet not opening yesterday, managed to finally get it open, however i managed to short something near the alternator while reaching up.
After getting into my car i noticed the dash won't light up/ no ignition etc just dead.
The central locking and hazards still work however it wont unlock the boot.
Had a quick look at the fuse box's (internal and external and all seems ok, is their anything i should be looking for specifically?

    Any help much appreciated!!

    Thanks

  2. Oh also the light for the keycard lights up too

  3. Its in the engine bay fusebox , no idea which one tho. Pull them one by one ..

  4. Tried all that - cheers for the response, managed to get it sorted now it was the main battery fuse on the +ve terminal

  5. Can I ask, how did you get the bonnet open? Mine won't open either, got both front grilles off but t can't find where the release catch is? Cheers

  6. It's a faff tbh mate! The easiest way I found was going underneath and reaching up towards the latch with a bar.
However after changing various bits I no longer had access that way and had to go in through the grill.
From what I remember it was just the nearside(passenger) grill you had to remove.
However after that there were 1 or two plastic bits you had to pull out too.
I think it's a white bit of plastic that holds some wires / cables out the way.
Then I think you squeeze your hand through the hole you've made, just above the radiator.
Then it's a case of feeling around for the loose cable.
It is a faff if your not 100% sure where the cable goes. Good luck!

  7. Have you checked the fuses on the battery?

  8. Ignore that just read the whole thread. Doh.

  9. Got it!! Yippee!! I now have a slashed/disformed hand, but I got it open  Thanks guys

  10. Yeah its part and parcel of opening the bonnet that way, getting mangled hands!
My hands are tiny and i still shredded them!
    Glad you got it sorted!
