Hi guys I'm looking a remapping my Megan rs. I live in Cambridge but work in norwich, my local tuning company is super nova tuning based in Griston I've used then for all my cars but they haven't actually tuned one before. They only do custom remapping so it not an issue but I just want an idea of not enough / too much so I know where I stand. I've got a decay pipe being made up also to fit, I know it won't make a massive amount of difference but still. If anyone can give me any idea as to expected boost pressure AFR ect just so I know what's right and wrong ? Sorry to be picky but I do work in motorsport just need some kind of idea ... OCD
Sorry using my phone it's a 250... In know you will probably slate me but I'm going to use super nova because I know there work is good they work with the local Bentley dealer also there heavily in to motorsport autogp and formula e, I do have confidence in them but I just wanted to know rough specs.

No Gary. I do have evidence of multiple tuning companies having issues with the megs though. Claiming X amount of power and delivering X - alot, or delivering power and it being lean and / or knocking ( detonation ) I am trying to help although you might not perceive the "help" as that. I wish you all the best.
I'm open to anything, and I do appreciate the advise given from all. All the maps are custom made so I should just be a case of getting the afrs in check after making 1.5 bar then seeing what numbers it makes. I'll keep you guys updated maybe even some pics
With the best will in the world - are they going to develop a new map based on existing just for you and live map it on rollers ? That is going to take hours and hours tweaking. Its a little more than looking at AFR as well. Monitor det/knock. I guess the guys will know this. Other thing is the meg ecu is quite smart. It will pull timing if it wants so sometimes the power is there at the start and then it drops ..

You need to work on the wordpress theme a little too. A few bits dont fit in the relvant section on Chrome . Soemthing didnt seem right to me from the first post to me either... If this top notch tuner is asking you to seek advice on a forum about afr & boost etc. for their refrence then for me it would start alarm bells and I wouldnt be comfortable using them. If you are genuine then apologies and my advice to you would be RS Tuning in Leeds... the 2hr 40mins drive there from Cambridge is well worth it !!!

Certainly a worry that a tuning company doesn't know what AFR to be looking for. I suspect this is another one of those remapping outfits who just supply generic maps. I've seen some bloody awful ones on cars I've had in to remap.
With you on that one Dan. My car when I got it had a remap on it. No idea who from but was running sub 10.5 AFR on WOT. Made something like 1.2bhp more and 2ibft more power.
