Hi, I just got a 250 without the LED DRL's, but would like to retrofit, if I can manage to get it done at a reasonable price.. The car currently uses the 21W sidelights? in the front clusters as DRL's. I was wondering if the LED's also double as fog lights? (meaning they would go on at a higher wattage/duty cycle when used as fogs).. cheers... PS. sorry for not posting photos, but I haven't taken delivery yet
I know the RS mk3 doesn't have separate fog lights, that's why I was wondering if the LEDs also work as front fogs on LED DRL equipped cars? (seems weird to me not to have front fogs on a top spec'ed car like the RS)..
I have xenons on mine 250. When main beam is on then LEDs are off. They don't act as fog lights. On some 265 LEDs work together with main beam. To be honest with you, I don't miss fog lights. Having xenons on my 3 last cars I was never using fog lights.
I thought all the 250's have drls ? There are no front fogs on the 250's although the bulbs are actually there on mine......just not wired up
Seems like LED DRL was an option in Denmark, then.. I will take a closer look at the bumper hole covers when it gets delivered.. Sounds strange that the bulbs are there.. I could've sworn that the 250 bumper doesn't have the round hole each side for separate fog lights... Mine has xenon as well, so as you say, dinn, fogs might not be necessary (never had a car with xenon before).
It could be some kind of optional pack together with self dimming rear view mirror: visibility pack, or something similar.
Theres no round holes on the mk 3, but the bulbs are unused in one of the Portions of the headlight unit
Right, on the 250 the led drl in the blade were an option, not all had them, the sparr bulb in the headlight is not a fog light but an unused drl that came on a standard mk3 megane with no led drl. You could spec led drls without xenons, with xenons it was know as the visability pack which also included electric mirrors, the dimming rear veiw mirror may also be part of of the park aswell
You may want to check if the plugs are there in the loom for the led drls, if they are, then they may work after being activated via renault clip.
But I've got the LEDs in the blade AND the spare bulb in the headlight. I've got xenons (cos I have the washers) but no dimming rear view mirror :-)
thanks, that sounds right.. mine has electric mirrors (assuming you mean electrically folding mirrors).. don't know yet if it has dimming rear view mirror.. also mine uses the bulb just left of the indicator, like in the photo above, as DRL...
yes.. do you know where I should look for those? I don't know what the LED DRL harness/loom looks like, or how long the wires are... Actually, does anyone on here have a photo and/or OEM part number(s) for the LED looms, they could provide med with? cheers...
All MK3's have washers AND the spare bulb in the headlight that is your DRL if you do not have the Led DRL's.
Mine doesn't have the spare bulb in the headlight, they must of changed the 265 lights. My LED drls are on all the time, they just dim a little when the lights are on.
Must be pick n mix with Renault then as I've seen a couple 265's with the spare bulb LOL! When were you at the Ring in the Megane?
Should do as on the 265 they turned off the sidelights due the drl bein on all the time, sure someone on here was askin as he thought it was a fault with the sidelights
Haven't been with her yet, will be going next year. The sticker is one I got last year as a spare when I was over in the Clio if that's why you ask?
