Thought I'd post up a thread on my R26 as I've owned it for a while now, having bought it from Chris (poobah) in December almost 2 years ago. It was running 275bhp purely on the Stage 1 map on a stock engine - only 1 other R26 has made a similar figure in the UK with no mods. It's since had a FMIC, full exhaust system, forge actuator etc. so it would be interesting to know what it's pushing out now. Spec when I bought her: 32k miles 2008 Model R26.R suspension R26.R headlights with Phillips xtreme bulbs all round. Performance Friction 330mm discs DS2500 front pads CL RC5+ rear pads Goodrich braided lines Rbf600 fluid Silver visions Forge actuator Short shifter KTR/Milltek 2.75" system Pace FMIC ITG Cosworth induction kit Forge recirc Custom stage 1 mapping with 1.5 over-map Samco hosing Streamline carbon door pillars, mirrors, door badges R26.R Carbon spoiler Carbon door handles Recaro Profi SPG seats Schroth harnesses Trimmed false floor Alpine X100 head unit Pioneer custom fit speakers AD08 tyres It was impeccably maintained, having just had it's 5-year service at Renault prior to me buying the car so all good for the next few years at least. Few pictures: Unfortunately, shortly after buying I decided to sell a few bits and bobs as the fact I had two little kids hit home (which it should have a lot earlier), so out came the Recaro Profi SPG seats (they didn't recline or tilt), in went the standard R26 Recaro's and rear interior. I also found that the PF330 discs on the front created a lot of chatter - as they are pretty much track discs. They were quietened down with spacer rings but in the end I sold them on for a nice profit and bought some brand new Brembo discs and DS2500 pads for the front. Other than that, and my personalised plate going on in the later pics, the car is pretty much the same Car has now done just over 45k miles. Also took it out for a run out over the weekend. Made me once again appreciate what a stunning car it is. Hardly a cheap plug to sell either, as I'm now of the mindset that my BMW M3 would go before the R26. Just an incredible all rounder; circa 300bhp, looks decent enough, sounds fantastic, returning 33mpg and oh boy can it shift when it needs to. These cars aren't to everyone's tastes, and perhaps look a little dated now with the newer models coming into play, but I love it and I've found it almost impossible to put up for sale over the last few months. Apologies, no tyre shine, as I was en route mostly:
I remember Chris said to me the best mod he put on the car (and there's been plenty) was the Forge actuator. A lot of folk also say the short shifter is a must have. I personally love the Milltek along with the induction. What a noise from them both.
The R26 looks spot on! I wonder why you would sell the M3 before the Meg though, always wanted a E46 M3!
Several factors really. Megane is cheaper to run, still goes well, feels more responsive, still under 50k miles and in time the M3 will no doubt hit me with a big bill or several. Also been offered more than I paid for it. Just weighing things up.
Nice car love a red meg what is on your centre console ive been considering flocking mine and vent and clock surround above just not sure who can do it
It's alcantara mate. Not sure who does it but it was already sorted prior to me buying the car
The alcantara used to be done by a guy on Meganesport who was from London, he's not on any of the forums anymore unfortunately
This has to be the best looking UR megane on here simply stunning, the first picture just looks immense
