I had my short shift done today by the guys down near Barnstaple. Long drive for but well worth it. Didn't get to meet Andrew but Matt/Chris (Hope I got the names right) are tops guys. There was a couple of other guys getting it done as well. It really is worth doing as it makes the gear changing much much better. Thanks again guys.
yeah really well worth it , the lads fitting were sound!!! did a few other little things at the same time of having a laugh and offering cups of tea! recommend it to anyone who hasn't got it done yet
sorry i missed you chaps..i didnt set alarm and missed most of the morning!..shocking. yep 2 guys from maidenhead and one from worcester..some miles covered there!..but as you have found out..well worth it.
No problem Andrew. Couldn't be happier with the mod. Although it was a long trip it went pretty smooth. Left Maidenhead at 07:10 and was home by 14:15 which was a 375 mile round trip. I still had most of the afternoon to chill.
This is a real easy mod to do yourself so no need for a road trip just get Andrew to send you the fitting guide it's a great mod
While some people may think it's a easy mod not everyone is up to doing the job. Yes it was a long trip but probably saved me a lot of frustration in the end. There's nothing worse than trying to do something and it goes wrong. Having said that I probably wouldn't have done the trip from Cumbria either. My mom lives in Workington so I do the trip a couple of times a year and it's definately to far to drive in one day.
I'm heading down to Cornwall in a few weeks anyway so I'll swing by on my way there, otherwise I think I'd have given it a go myself.
The distance was definately why i made my decision i was just saying its not that difficult and worth having a go if the drive was to much i can understand not wanting to diy it as well
£60, some great roads down there about 5 miles to the destination, just be careful of the tractors etc haha! didn't know the roads at all but was putting the car round some tight bends doing more than i should be
thing is,a lot of the time we do find problems when we fit these..especially older meganes..mainly seized actuators (like the guy above, who came this weekend). If you didnt know how to sort this out,and added the shortshift, you probally wont be able to get it in gear!..I have seen many fitment mistakes by DIY`ers..but as long as you really study the guide and take your time, most can do it.
Yeah ah mine was pretty fucked in all fairness and they sorted it... It wouldn't centre but now it's smack on.
Absolutely can't wait to get one of these on mine. Out having a blast today, and it just felt ridiculous (and a bit dangerous) the distance on throws!
That price does include fitting. Fantastic price for the difference it makes. Really makes want to drive the car even more now.
agreed mate, its ridiculous that they are like it as standard! on the motorway on the way back... i was in 6th and it looked as if it was in neutral! makes such a difference believe me
Tried sending PM but message box full. Andrew can you give me a call on 07772261802 when your free. I'd like to see if I can get the car down to you in the next week or so.
