250 RSTuner Remap Dyno Results

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by Ash_Webb, Jun 14, 2014.

  1. Thought I would post them up for anyone considering getting one. Didn't do a before and after, but here are the dyno results from the RSTuner remap. Only other mods are mid box chop and pipercross panel filter. Also has an AFR curve as I wanted to make sure the fuelling was correct and not likely to cause damage. When I get round to it I'll do a before and after using the power analyser feature on the RSTuner.

    289bhp @ 5865rpm
    301ftlb @ 3524rpm

  2. Seems like a weak figure to me, how does it drive?

  3. Take those rollers with a pinch of salt.

Mine was down on them as well. Ran near identical figures of the other 3 it has been on

  4. Drives fine, definitely pulls better than before. Might get it on some other rollers and see what it makes as a comparison.

  5. How much less was yours on these compared to others? And is yours a mk3 or mk2?

I'm pretty sure Sargara's megane has been on these rollers too and made around 290.

  6. When you do then performance analyser run with the RS tuner let me know what power figure you get with what weight you put in, mine only came back at 220bhp at the wheels :worried:

  7. Will do need to find a suitable road first! 220 at the wheels seems low?

  8. Mine is a phase 2 and came back with around 9% less.

  9. Using the standard 15% transmission loss rule it gave me 256bhp at the flywheel and it's boosting 1.5bar so it seemed very low to me as well so I assumed the analyser programme was inaccurate.

Then I did my standard 225 and it came up as 223bhp, then my clio came up at 170bhp ( 15% transmission loss ) so I guess it's pretty accurate after all. I think you just have to get the weight correct but I used the specified kerb weight plus my weight and then stuck a full tank in the car as generally speaking manufactures class kerb weight with a full tank.

  10. Thinking on putting an rstuner map on mine as I already have the fast chip box. What does a good AFR look like?

  11. The perfect one is known as stoichometrix , or around 14:1

Your car will grenade though !

AFR run from low ( rich ) to high ( lean )

I am not 100% what is considered a "safe" figure on the meg, but a AFR reading of the high 11s is normally deemed "safe" on a turbo charged car.

Its a balance of many things ( listening to det/knock / AFR ) makes a good mapper , er good.
