Hey all, So after having 2 Clio Sports recently (a liquid yellow 182 and a pearl black 172) I was in need of some boost. Iv always liked the Megane Sports and after having a spirited drive of one and reading some good reviews I took the plunge and bought one. The car is a 2006 Ultra Blue Megane Sport F1 (R25) (Limited Edition). As it stands the car is completely standard apart from a K-Tec Racing panel filter. For a standard car it's bags of fun to drive and puts a smile on my face every time I plant the right foot. Future plans - * Milltek backbox. * Middle box chop. * Forge DV. * Forge FMIC. * Cooksport springs. * Wheel spacers (15mm all round). * Remap. * R26R rear spoiler. For now I'm just enjoying it but will be adding a few of the above bits within the next few months. Hope you lot like it! Cheers, Sonley.
Little update - Recently added a few bits to the Megane. It's starting to take shape now and the moneypit has begun lol... Had the middle box chopped out and a stainless pipe welded in. Can't believe how much louder the car is now under load. Day to day driving it's relatively quiet but when you open it up it sounds great and even pops on gear changes once warmed up. Also added a Forge dump valve and blanking plate. The standard dump valve struggles which extra boost once remapped, so I opted to add a Forge one instead as the car will be getting remapped soon. Was really disappointed with how poor the standard halogen headlights were. Use to have xenons on my clio 172 and 182 so couldn't live with the halogens. Opted for a 6000k HID kit. Fitted it yesterday aswell as some LED sidelights and LED foglight bulbs. Luckily I have an MOT friendly garage that I use so the HID's and LED fogs won't be a problem. Whilst I was on with LED lighting I bought some 501 LED's off eBay for my interior. Was sick of the dull interior lights so thought I'd brighten things up abit. £4 for 10 was a bargain and they look great! The rear of the car was looking abit cluttered so I decided to debadge and dewiper it. Took about 20mins to do and looks better. Haven't used the rear wiper since I bought the car so won't miss it. When I first bought the car the tailpipes were sagging and rubbing on the bumper. Two new exhaust mounts later and it was as good as new. Decided against spraying over the damage and fitted some carbon vinyl to cover it instead. Didn't really like it at first but it's better than seeing a scratched bumper I suppose and doesn't look too bad. That's if for now, but next up is... * Forge intercooler. * Milltek backbox or a complete backbox chop with stainless pipe welded in. * Forge hard pipe kit. * Big Fish remap. Then after that some H&R springs, R26r spoiler and a few carbon touches. Thanks, Sonley!
Small update - Just bought a new intercooler which should arrive Tuesday next week. Im also having the backbox chopped out next weekend so hopefully it will pop and bang abit more and pi$$ my kn0b of a neighbour off abit more than normal Next up after that a remap and then onto aesthetics...
