What have you done to your Car today?

  1. Measuring with string worked on my previous car when I removed the aircon for over 4 years while I had it so I dont really care what you think. I 100% guarantee it wont slip because I have spaced the alternator bracket out to allow for extra tension too cos I couldn't buy a 875 belt which is the measurement I got with string. Its not rocket science.

You doubt what you want. Ive done it many times over the years and never had a problem and wont have a problem this time.

  2. Never read so much shite

  3. Really.

Can't understand what you are struggling with my kids could do this.[IMG]

  4. Obviously im just better at this than you are.

  5. Its just like being back in school... lol.

  6. Na you just copied my old attempt and lied about using string. You can't possibly get a correct measurement using string it's totally different elastic properties and how can you tension string round the tensioner. The megane belt has to be within 1mm or it won't work.

This is my new attempt you going to copy me again cunt.

Sticking to my tried and tested method. Won't be changing it cos I know it will work.

Like I said im obviously better than you. Dickhead.

we aren't in the playground anymore!

  11. Their best mates really

  12. Went to fit new number plate light holder...it was already broken so put the old one back in.... Think I might need a new rear loom aswell. Any ideas on prices?

  13. Gave my seat belts a clean.

  14. Not today but on Friday we fitted the new Powerflex lower arm bushes and anti roll bar bushes to the Clio. Massive difference especially with the castor adjustable and anti lift rear lower arm bush.

We are hopeful of getting a kit completed for the Megane

  15. Hurry up with the megane stuff!

  16. Well after all the discussion about how an 880 belt will slip I decided I would modify my original one just a little bit just incase.

Wouldn't want anyone copying a bad design would I.

This is what i came up with.....

Just kidding........... Way too much effort for me.

All you need is a 10mm drill bit and about 10 minutes to do it.

Tensioner in its original place.. Position 1
    [IMG]

Tensioner in its new place.. Position 2
    [IMG]

Adds 20mm to the belt. The pic isnt that good but you can see position 1 and 2.

All i did was drill a little bit out of the alloy mounting to allow for the tensioner locator to fit into.

I was going to tidy it up but no one will ever see it so didnt bother.

    Its that easy.

This is how it fits before adding tension to it. There is no way this will slip. Its tight to get on the tensioner with the tensioner all the way backed off.

  17. Is it not easier to leave the air con in

  18. Its heavy and no point keeping it. One less thing to fail.

  19. Its only worked for a couple of days even after your mate regassed it so its just dead weight on this car.

Im leaving it on the Trophy as the wife uses that but the diesel will be used by me so i want to strip it out and play with it for a while. Ive had a lot of fun in the diesel so will be more fun when i get it back on the road with more power and less weight.

  20. A diesel

  21. I know but people always try it on with it and expect to win. Pisses them off when they dont and get a face full of soot. Dont really get that in the Trophy.

  22. Got my brakes all fitted at rentech, drove home and it slipped like mad so now it's in for a new clutch ouch

  27. Big job? Nah. Worst bit is getting old spoiler off then its just 5mins, mark, drill holes, screw in!

  28. Yes old spoiler removal and getting the boot lid immaculate was a job and half
