250 Tuning / Remap

  1. Evening everyone,

    I have done a search on the site but couldn't find what i was after..

    I have heard a couple of conflicting things on what its safe to take the original turbo to, i am guessing a basic remap offers 30-40 bhp increase?

    Does a remap on the 250 need any other mods, filters etc?
    Whats the rough increase? i realise this will vary car to car

    Does anyone have any experiance with this, also if a remap is worth it, who are the RS tuners with good reputations?

  2. Hi Nick, yeah get it done you won't regret it. Your estimate for increases is about right, go to RSTuning in Leeds if its possible, they have a great reputation. A remap doesn't need any other mods but if you getting some do them before the map to get the best out of it, my example is I had a scorpion catback system fitted and K&N filter and then got the map so it then optimises everything, mine was producing 262bhp stock and went to 308bhp with about 3000mls on it at the time, transforms the car, really does.

I have a Etuners Chip Stage (1+) by Stelios, down pipe 3" , blanking plate, filter K&N, 305HP Aprox. i'm very good whith this work but i would like add Intercooler Forge and Upgrade turbo to 360HP, in my country is very difficult bring to intercooler. The goverment is corrupt.

  5. cheers guys, thats what i wanted to hear

    i'm not too fussed about changing the exhaust if the downpipe isnt a restriction... my old cupra was far too loud in the end, i didn't think the stock exhaust sounded too bad

    I take it the standard filter is just paper? Is the K&N a panel, or you got an induction kit fitted?

  6. I read that going above stage 2 requires work done to the turbo as its operating fairly close to its safe limits anyway?

    Or is the intercooler enough to bring the intake temps down for the extra bhp

Not is problem for my to tell you, the rate of inflation in my country is 35% for each year, Im importer since September 2013 and i have a tire store here, i coudn't bring wheels from china because the goberment didn't have U$S for pay the importation (because stolen), only through "extra money" bribes, and not save . But i will have buy things for paypal but is difficult to bring here. Look, one dollar as same as twelve pesos argentinos. i'ts very sad.

  11. What about clutch and flywheel lifespan after remapping? Are they durable?
     
  12. I've had no issues tho mines a weekend toy I've done 4000mls since the map and all good. I suppose it's how you treat it to. I don't go smashin 0-60 times everytime I pull away etc
     
  13. Mines been mapped for around 25000 miles and still all fine with it, frequently gets driven like it should be and all is well :smile:
     
  14. That is very good, but i will goin to Orlando 7 september, i think join whit some things there in the hotel and bring in airplane =) No other way.
