Service light / Airbag warning light FAULT CODES

Discussion in 'Electrical & Interior - Security, ICE, Wiring Loom' started by richmeg, Apr 29, 2014.

  1. Hey,

My garage are quoting £70 to connect my car to the diagnostics to investigate why the above lights are showing on the dash.

I was just thinking I've got a scan gauge in my garage, can I use that to detect which fault codes are present?

Is it easy to use / follow the instructions?

    Thanks,

    Rich

No, SG won't touch SRS codes I'm afraid. £70 is a touch much, we charge £15 for a code read (or an hours labour if you want us to actually do some work).

  3. probably a connector under the seat, drivers most likely. Give them a wiggle and see if the lights go off.......

My personal experience with Megane II's and illuminated SRS lights are normally the clockspring assembly and a broken connector ribbon... but diagnostics will say 100%

  5. agreed, sometimes the plug is under the carpet below the seat......like mine is, wiggle the ruddy seat connector all you want but mine just laughed at me lol.

  6. Lol, yeah, I know what you mean. Worth a try though as it is often the cause if the seat gets moved a lot......

  7. Would this (the SRS light) also cause the service light to be illuminated (or this could be something else entirely) . . . ?

  8. yes, the SERV light will come on if airbag light comes on. It basically shows a fault somewhere, so will come on with any warning light. (It isn't a service light as such, that is the spanner light......)
