Has anyone done anything funky with their engine covers? My one in the Trophy is ok but has a mark I'm struggling to get off so I fancied having it sprayed or hydro dipped but wondered if there were any other finishes than carbon fibre people had gone for. My friend could spray it for me fairly cheap but not sure what colour, would ideally like it Nimbus Grey but do like the idea of a carbon finish. Any pictures for inspiration from you lovely Megane owners?
Those all look excellent!! Question is do I go for a Nimbus grey colour or blue to go with my hoses/interior. Keenan225 - Is that a hand made battery cover? Looks awesome. This was the cover on my old 172, always intended to have the inlet powder coated but sold it before then. My friend did that engine cover inferno to match my other Megane. Only problem was with the heat it started to go a bit funny in certain places.
I'm sure you have seen these already mate, but just in case.... I had it painted on my Trophy I went safe and decided on carbon fibre on my 250 Also just had the battery and fuse box covers done to match A load of different patterns available though, you could go really funky!! http://www.hydro-graffix.co.uk/index.html
That looks really good. Would like to do something similar to mine. Did you manage to get a replacement sticker for the battery cover or did you leave it off?
Steve1, that looks absolutely fantastic! nathrs250, I didn't bother with a replacement sticker for the battery cover, I think it looks neater without.
I got it done to hand on my office wall, the R doesn't have an engine cover and it's too nice to be fitted mate
Some of these are really impressive, especially the ones done with more than one colour!! Some real time and effort. Out of interest has anyone found the heat affect their engine cover, made the paint flake or discolour?
My cover was 'hydro dipped' rather than wrapped, you can get a proper Carbon Fibre one, but it's not cheap! http://streamlinecarbon.com/v2/products-page/megane-3-rs-250/
Thanks for all the info guys, much appreciated. Not sure how much worth there is in buying a genuine carbon fibre cover, it's only for looks and you'd save more weight removing it entirely than real carbon fibre haha.
Hand made in my work, then my brother sprayed both engine cover and battery cover, he got the stickers for the engine cover made up off his friend and I bought the one on the battery cover off ebay
2.0 T looks like taken from A3/A4 tail gate. Nice job anyway. I would like to sort out my engine bay soon too.
Cheers, honestly it a work of art, the picture just doesn't do justice to the finish, it's just to nice to put under the bonnet so I have it hanging on my wall, the R26.R is air brushed on , not stickers, I can't recommend spray shack enough
I honestly don't know as I had a load of stuff done at the same time Probably somewhere around £50 mark
Hi Lee, bought it back in 2013, i think yoza123 was their ebay username, said they sprayed it themselves, no chip in right hand corner tho, was plain LY when I received it Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
The air filter cover, was the first attempt, second one in progress. I remove the covers, when on track.
