  1. I have grand plans for the Megane in 2014, so I thought I'd post a few pics here and keep it updated.

I bought the RS Megane in September last year, having owned a couple of M3 (e36 Evo and e46) and a TVR powered Mk1 Escort track car... The plan being something that I can drive regularly, track regularly and enjoy cheaper maintenance.

I've been delighted, its one of the best handling cars I've had the privilege to own and even after following much faster cars that have sat on my dive its been one of the most enjoyable.

    Mod list this year includes:
    - Exhaust System (now fitted - Scorpion)
    - Lowering spring and new shocks
    - Nankang NS2R Semi slicks
    - Remap
    - Lots of track time.... Nurburgring, Spa, Bedford and Silverstone are al on this years list

In fact, First thing we did together was head here...

The Megane was a joy at Nurburgring, quite a wolf in sheeps clothing compared to the boy'd up cars we flew past. The day started wet, doing around 11 min times. As it dried out and I became more familiar we pulled our times below Clarksons 10 min marker and almost towards the 8's. Best recorded lap was 9:19 BTG. Here's bit of it:

since then, my plate has been added, new front pads/discs, 60k service and the scorpion exhaust (which I love..!)

  2. Looking good that mate! Do you find the exhaust manageable, and not too loud?

  3. Great video at the ring!

  4. Where did you get the exhaust from bud?

  5. It sounds great externally, but from within the car its hardly any different, the Megs are so well insulated and engines are pretty quite in truth.

  6. Thanks man, going back in September and adding a day at Spa to the trip - cannot wait!!

  7. That sounds good then. The engines are too quiet in my opinion, so this should beef things up a bit!

  8. There used to be loads of scorpion exhaust kicking about on ebay... just had a look and now theres none... sods law lol

  9. Its been a busy month for the Meg.

    - Suspension work includes:
    - New Bottom Arms & Link Arm
    - Cooksport Springs
    - Nankang NS2R x4
    - Wheel Alignment

It has to me said that the investment in refreshing some suspension parts along with Cooksports and Semi-Slicks has totally transformed the car, I've not driven anything that feels quite like it in a long time. Its certainly the most sure fotted hatchback I've had out of quite a long list. Fully recommend Cooksports for ride and comfort.

    Engine wise:

    Ktec Remap
Airbox drilled out a bit further
    NGK Plugs
New vac hoses (had a leak somewhere)

We think the actuator is leaking a bit of boost at the top end, I got 252hp 297lb tq from her... Again transformed the power delivery!!

Finally... Ready for Nurburgring next Friday...

    - Stripped Interior
    - Vinyl for a bit of fun...!

I've had a mixed of love and hate for it... what do you think?

  13. This evening I clayed the car for the first time, first time I'd done this car, and first time I'd done any car actually. After having watched a few youtube videos and bought the meguiars kit I got to it...

Rubbing the bar on the car feels strange, but the stratchy feeling on old paint soon turns to smooth and you get the feeling its doing good.

Following a full body clay, I polished with tcut black and finished with poorboys black hole wax, quite a result, cant wait to see it in the daylight tomorrow.
