Hey all Picked up a 56 plate Meganesport Cup with about 51k on it today, its gone straight to a garage for cambelt change and a few other bits as there is very little history on the car. But having driven it today for a couple of hours... wow! Not got many pics yet, so here's one from the advert I have had a French hot hatch before, namely a 306 GTi 6 for 5 years, but after I sold that in 2010 and had a BMW 540i for about a year, Ive been driving a 306 HDi and saving up for something fun again The urge to get another GTi 6 was somehow ignored, largely because I don't want to drive a 14 year old French car around constantly in fear that it is about to disintegrate. So I started to look at the 225's and pretty much just bought the first one I looked at. It is a fairly substantial jump up from the 6 and to be honest even the 540i (for all its great noise, the wife's Mondeo TDci could beat it) Hopefully having driven a rattly diesel for so long with just about everything broken I can shake my previous forum reputation of being an "autohypocondriac" So hi all, see you around! Another ex 306 owner! Went from a Dturbo, to a 6, to a Rallye, to another 6, to a Clio for about 1 month and then the R26. Do keep looking at Rallyes still though... Sure you will enjoy the upgrade to the Megane
Yea the seller told me the LSD was fitted by previous owner. I got it back today, 2 pilot sport 2s fitted on the front, service and can belt done. Still to do is hand brake (the button has vanished inside, got a replacement off Ebay) and a couple of cosmetic issues - the compartment lid in the divers door card has fallen off and there's a big dent on the bonnet that a chip guy said needs painting so swap the bonnet I guess. The price of the car and the work done on it has been about 4.5k which is what I was looking to pay, cosmetic stuff can wait. Yea I saw the decals were 45 quid, maybe I'll leave them for now haha.
