Best pad for bite

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by Northy 8, Mar 23, 2014.

  1. I currently run the ds2500 frt pads and not that keen
    Not enough initial bite
    Faded bad on track
I ran the ds3000 but the dust was mad
Any other option that don't cost a bomb
    Cheers
    ie mintex etc
I am after a good cold bite

  2. If you want awesome bite from the word go then either DS 1.11 s od carbotec XP8s , neither will fade on track, my money I'd be buying the DS 1.11s as the carbotec are about £230 where as the others are about £160,
    hope this helps

    Steve

  3. For cold bite you wil not beat the carbotec, straight off the drive they will stand the car on its nose

  4. I had carob tech xp 8's on my Evo but the dust and squeal was terrible
Are the others more kind on dust
    Thanks

  5. DS 1.11s then ftom JJC race and rally their not on their website so you'll have to call them

  6. Ok mate are they pretty good on dust etc
    Cheers

  7. i'm actually loving my new set of PFC 08 compound.. dust is the same like oem pads, noisy only at low speed braking

  8. What's the price of those mate

  9. £220ish here in Czech Rep. for MRSII/CRSIII so better check yourself for some UK deals..mine were even more expensive but i'm really happy with them and I even do drive my car daily.. the bite increases slightly with temperature rise so no need to warm them up.. PFC 08 is an endurance compoun - they should last long and should not destroy the discs rapidly, but PFC has some newer compounds now so they may be even better

  10. Good reviews mate
Not going over £150 no more as gets out of hand

  13. Check out CL 5+ Bang for buck have to be in top three pads along with RS29 and PF08

  14. the CL pads are disc munchers though ..

RC5+'s are in a different league to RS29's! Pagids piss all over them!
Not the RC5's, Even the 6's aren't that bad on discs

  16. I like my Pagid RS5.Very good pads.Bite from stone cold and consistant on track.Dust is similar to OEM.But they are not chep.

I've tried most pads and the DS1.11's are leagues ahead.

initial bite gives you whiplash, when warmed up they're even better, they just don't give up.

speak Josh Cook for a good price on the DS1.11's

  25. £200 nah

  26. Only rang them this morn
Tfd can u pm a few prices and different pads please

  27. £130 plus vat, total £156.80 inc delivery , ask for Dave

  28. R-sport also sell ds1.11's for £130+vat

  29. i wouldn't mind trying those ds1.11s, but looking at Johns callipers, the heat from the pads discolours them, thats just me being a bit anal, ceramic pads don't seem to affect the callipers . I fried my callipers with RC6, great stopping power but i wouldn't use them again.I'm on Pagid RS5 now, great bite from cold, no noise (so far) and are great on track, no fade at all, but not cheap.

  30. Is r sport part of the Renault group

  31. I've ordered a set , will be with me Tuesday and that's what I've paid

  32. Just proves they try and make to much profit then if you let them

  33. Ds1.11's are also ceramic pads

  34. Johns calipers are like brand new still Martin

  35. Will ring jjc rally again tomorrow if they can do them for £150 delivered I will take a set of ds 1.11

  36. Shows you what i know about cars : (

  37. John has mentioned that to me : )

  38. Can't wait to try these ds 1.11
    Had the 2500 total rubbish
The ds3000 are very good but kills the alloys

  39. Jjc told me £200 for ds1.11 and I mentioned that people have said they should be cheaper

  40. Did they offer them for the cheaper price or flatly refused mate
