Literally copying this from MS.net Thought I'd start a project thread up for my 225 Cup. I bought the car about a year ago now from my brother who had the car from brand new. The car is a real credit to him as its been kept in excellent condition bodywork and mechanical wise so it's in tip top condition. Fortunately for me he also done the majority of the mods to it that I would have which include: Rs Tuning map 270 bhp 285lbft torque Forge actuator Forge blanking plate Forge dump valve Ktec intercooler Full samco boost hose set Miltek cat back exhaust Itg panel filter Polarised wheel bolts Carbon R26r spoiler I've done a couple of small mods to it since owning it. Got my A pillars trimmed with alcantara fabric and yesterday fitted R26r headlights and a HID kit so I'm really pleased how it's looking list now. Few crappy iPhone pics: And a few of my previous fast Renualts and my Williams project
Bit of an update: Been an expensive couple of months for me after having some work carried about by RS Tuning. I always had a little niggle when driving with a heavy right foot that I was going to bend a rod after reading to many horror stories on here. It probably wouldn't have happened but I wanted to put my mind at rest and get something done about it. So after seeing Paul put up a post saying he would change the standard rods for forged items along with new bearings, timing belt kit, waterpump and oil/filter changed for £1500 I couldn't resist and bit the bullet and opted for the Manley rods with ARP bolts. While the car was down with Paul I had him fit a Forge recirc in place of my dump valve and a Forge hard boost pipe kit. Car seemed to be running better than ever and pulling stronger than before so I thought I would get it in on a local RR day with a few mates at Extreme Motorsport who are pretty accurate and consistent with their figures. When I got the car mapped I had Paul set it at 285 ftlbs just incase of the inevitable. So after 2 runs on the RR it now seems to be sitting at bang on 300 ftlbs which I'm pretty chuffed with tbh. I don't have any plans to up the power in the future so I'm just going to keep enjoying driving it and keeping it clean. Few pics: View attachment 1277 View attachment 1278 View attachment 1279
Small update: Made the trip down to see Mark Black about 2 months ago now to have the Helix kit fitted. Absolute gem of a guy and a real grafter too he was pretty much working flat out for a little over 5 hours and in that time he fitted the Helix kit, removed my forge hard boost pipe kit and replaced both steering hub bearings and all for £400 which was cheap as chips if you ask me. Really enjoying the Helix now the car seems to pull so much harder and rev a lot quicker too so a big thumbs up from me. I also had the track rods and ends replaced a couple of weeks before I went down to see Mark to with having these changed along with new hub bearings the steering feels like new so I'm really pleased with it.
Well I'm a few pounds lighter in the wallet now but I've got a set of these bad boys Fcuking love them and big thanks to Ads@Renault for getting them for me Too.
Looks stunning, only actually ever seen one inferno on the road. The 5 and the Williams are simply epic.
Thanks mate. Yeah fairly rare colour especially on ph2 225. Sold the 5 about 2 years ago now that car was a total blast to drive and the Williams is going into the body shop in 2 weeks for a full respray.
How much were the .r alloys? I really fancy a set but worried black won't work on mine - then it's ££££ on painted them which is then mega £££££!
Cars looking great mate. The R lights make a big difference to the look of the front, so much better.
Cheers Liam your R26 looks a beauty especially with the lux pack. When do you pick it up? Took the boost pipe kit off because the fitment was absolutely terrible and the bracket that bolts on to the inlet manifold snapped clean off. The car actually runs better on the standard pipes tbh.
Cheers Stevie. Yeah the .r lights are a great mod. Simple change but they make a big difference to the look of the front end.
Cheers mate, im going down for it on saturday morning but due to my insurance policy on the clio i cant insure the megane properly right now so it will be going into the garage for a while Ill get temp cover for the day to get it home though.
I'm in 2 minds currently wether to remove the carbon .r spoiler and fit the original lip spoiler or get a genuine .r spoiler and have it sprayed inferno.
if it was me I would either get a carbon bonnet/or wrap.... it would look good. Rims look great too. On your other motors I too have had a Clio cup 182 and a Clio William's (one of the best cars I had until I rolled it) in the past..great little cars. Keep thread updated on Williams
bin off that nasty carbon spoiler and put a colour coded one on bobs your aunt fannys your uncle oem+
