Bought some of this to use on the 265 and it's pretty decent BUT if it rains a day or two after it's been applied it obviously runs down over my wheels and makes them look terrible. Anyone get this and how do I stop it? I have the standard satin black cup wheels.
Strange, I have been using this stuff for years and have never had that problem....Not sure what you can do about that.
I use this with the proper sponge dont put it on to thick u need to put it on thin let it dry out and put a couple of coats on
It sounds like youve used to much product. Make sure you work it into the face of the tyre then give it 5 mins and remove any excess with a micro fibre cloth to prevent any sling or runs. Dave
It does smell nice. I apply mine very thinly but every time the cars driven it's sprays little black dots up the door.
I'd go as far to say put 1 coat on and wait 10 mins, remove excess with old microfiber, then do it a second time. Good indication of two much on the wheels is how much product appears on the painted part of your whhels arches. ... none is what you're looking for.
Me too, never had a problem with this happening and love this stuff. Maybe OP you're being a bit too liberal with the gel? I use one of the Meguiars tyre gel applicator thingies and you can apply it generously without it running. What you using to apply it?
I'm using a normal sponge, the product isn't running on to the wheel as such, it's when the rain runs over it and down onto the wheel makes the wheels look patchy/greasy
That's a bit odd mate, maybe use some kitchen towel or old cloth to dab some of the gel off after you apply? I think it says you can wipe it over after for a more matt finish so maybe it's just over applying it a little. I use it on my car but don't even find it flicks off the tyres even just after it's applied.
Wastr lle of money mate .. you can just buy a pack of 10 washing up sponges from tescos for 30p and just use the sponge side of them
I thought it was a bit odd aswel tbh, I'll need to take a picture the next time it does it because I don't get any fling either so theres obviously not too much on.
I actually thought the Meguiars tyre sponge was a gimmick. Got one on the cheap off a mate and realised it does a great job and handy it comes in a case
