I am fed up of my rear wiper having a mind of its own so i want to blank it off. Does anyone have a guide on how to do this and what parts are required? thanks
Its pretty easy. The motor is rivited on though so that needs drilling off. The rest is common sense. I did mine ages ago
Why mind of its own mate? If you have auto wipers on it auto sweeps the rear as soon as you engage reverse?
It comes on most times I start the car and stays on for about 20 seconds and stops in a different place every time. It does still come on when I reverse but can't I stop it.
You can buy smoothed caps for the clio, and i believe its the same cap. Ive been thinking about doing mine as i HATE having the rear screen marked. My 172 rear window ended up scratched due to the rear wiper with all the shit sitting on the wiper
R come with no wiper because have no glass. I saw carbon blanking plate on ebay but it was to Clio 172/182 - it's little to small for Megane.
Done mine at the weekend. think it looks much better. Also got my metal pressed plates on and debadged it. I need to do a blog really. Maybe one day.
How does the wiper arm come off? Take the 13mm bolt off then does it just spin off on the thread? Cheers
Sorry to hi-jack the thread! Once the nut is off how do I get the threaded bar off? Once the bars removed do I have to remove the motor or can I just leave it on and put a rubber bung in and that's it?
I think you need to remove the wiper I'm sure I've read it's riveted on so you will need to drill out the rivets to remove it there is a lad on ms that is selling the lexan windows the same as the r26r £150 for all three rears and they cover the rear wiper so would do the same Job
Dont bother doing it unless you get the polycarb rear window cause otherwise you just look like a typical barryboy
