My standard injectors are choked so thinking of upgrading them. The bigger injectors ktec sell would need a remap so wanting to know about any other options. Are rs250/265 injectors the same or different to the r26 ones? If there different has anyone here tried them?
what mods do you have? looking for more power or are you still standard? if your standard I would go with OE ones. There is nothing wrong with them
I've got a milltek catback fitted and also have a decat pipe still to fit. Forge dump valve and the recirc valve blanked off. Planning a intercooler aswel.
As if I didn't know already, this message popped up on the dash tonight and the car wouldn't let me put the throttle on
I just had the same issue with mine and went for OE ones. Paul at RS did say that a siemens standard size alternative was available, but unless tuned (stage 2) it was best to go OE.
I've had the exact same thing happen to my R26 over the last couple of days. Had a code reader on it today and it says 'throttle body return spring weak'. The code was cleared and so far all is okay. I didn't have a misfire or anything and as you say, the throttle pedal did nothing - tick over revs only. You sure it's the injectors at fault?
I've no plugged my code reader in yet, will get that done today at some point. Been thinking about changing the injectors for a while now as the idle is a wee bit lumpy, only 1-200 revs though so not too bad
I had this problem about a year ago. It turned out that the throttle body needed cleaning. If I remember correctly the car went into "limp" mode and I couldn't drive over 3000 revs. Since then I have changed the injectors myself as I was getting the common exhaust cough/splutter associated with faulty injectors. I just put a set of standard oe ones on as my car is standard.
My car was going into limp mode not long ago, telling me to check injection etc. Turned out to be a coil though!
there is someone who does injectors on a exchange basis. he will send you some clean ones in place of your nasty ones
Just bought a set of oe for r26 of ads 160 quid delivered standard dont need mapping the ecu can learn and reset itself
I think what we've been talking about is different. I've had check injection warning but the throttle doesn't do anything at all, tick over revs only. I don't think that's the same as limp mode.
Mine only comes up with check injection when I'm high up the revs, overtaking etc, when this happens it won't let me rev over 2000 - 2500 rpm, all I need to do is pull over and stop the engine, when I start it up again the message is gone and I can put the throttle on as normal. Struggling to find my diagnostics reader so arsing about with phone apps and a obd2 dongle thing but can't get the apps to link to it
My fault would also go away if i turned the car off/on. Until one day i tried that and it stayed until i replaced the coil.
Also interested in an injector exchange, ive got a bit of a harmonic vibration on idle that rocks the car and today the idle sound changed and the engine light on the dash started blinking for a few seconds. Though looking on ebay they seem to be around £165 for a new set. I assume they are cheaper at the main dealers?
