  1. As it says my lads r26 has lost power over 2500 ish could it be coil pack? He took it to our local rip off garage i told him to get it back they charged him £24 for "putting it on the fault finder" and they never told him what it was, oh well his fault but my first guess is coil anyone else got any clues i did rev it stood still and it seems to miss fire

  2. Any message on you comp screen?

    Limp mode.

Could be coils, a sensor, solinoid or anything.

Best thing to do is get it on a clip and find out the fault codes that appearing.

  4. I've got clip mate.

  5. Damb bad timing as mine in in for clutch tomorrow so i cant do awt but i have the orange thing off ebay fault reader thing bd code reader thing just dont know how to use it with 3 meganes in the house i guessed it would be a good idea to get one
lee if i was free tomorrow i would pop over, maybe sunday if your free and my reader has no joy

  12. how does this work does it also reset your wipers as mine aren't the same as they used to be don't work anywhere near as well as they used to ? I have tried before but nothing seems to happen

  13. Quick update had it next to mine did the normal coil swap ect and nawt so i took off the ribbed pipe (what would be the T d/v pipe) and its fine, so i guessed it had a intercooler block so i got my old intercooler and all pipes changed and its still the same :-(

  14. Just been told it still misfires with the pipe off but not as bad

  15. Did your OBD reader throw any codes up?

  16. Don't know how to use it

  17. It should be a piece of piss mate, pop the OBD port cover off (in front of the gearstick) Plug it in, then yoou'l prob have 3 or so buttons two to scroll one for enter, scroll to DTC press enter.
Is your code reader an orange one with a cable attached?

  18. Oh depending on the type you may need to have your ignition on (but not the engine running). i think thats press the start button 3 times with key in and hold down the last press of the start button for about 10-15 secs

  19. Its the orange one i will have a go, watch this space......... Ps cheers

  23. Where is the boost sensor?
And where is the knock sensor?
Lucky i have my car to swap the two and rule it out

  24. The pending bit means you've got an intermittent fault that has been logged in the ECU but hasn't hit the threshold to actually register it as an actual fault yet

  25. Knock sensor is on the front of the block near the oil filter, from memory it has a brown electrical plug going into it (may be wrong, so don't quote me!).

Boost sensor i would presume would be the MAP sensor, which is on the plastic hose going into the throttle body it may be hidden down behind the headlight somewhere (I've got the forge hard pipe kit so cant 100% remember exactly where it is) you'l probably need a small flat head screwdriver to prise it loose

  26. Cheers i will have a look

  27. No worries, i'd probably start with the Map sensor first tbh

  28. I changed his for mine earlier and it was the same so knock sensor next

  29. I'd also be looking at the n75 valve as i think the solenoid has a habit of going every now and again from what i've read

  30. Sounds like your having a mare austin any luck selling the r26 yet ?

  31. Unsure what he doing with it think he saw his arse with it coz it has this problem, what's a N75 valve?
