  1. 10k a box holly mac that's a fortune ha bt then I suppose it will get used lol soon as myn is full ill just get the side lockers aswrll it's just tryn to get cash lol

  2. Yeah tech series boxes aint cheap and generally need a fork lift to move them off the lorry or to other workshops.
the one i have the now was £2400 (just the box) but i need more space, so it get expensive.

  3. Aye Jeso the box I got we have a bête tool guy that comes round an got myn for 900 brand new bt tht was a deal as it was normally 1500 so me and another 2 boys got them. Lon u been a mechanic for

  4. Been sorting trucks for around 10 years now mate.
wait until the mac or snap on guys have a minimum trade in offer and get yourself a new one

  5. Do u enjoy workn on trucks? I worked for a renault dealership to do my time but we worked on every vehicle nt just renaults bt the money was poor 280 a week qualified and tht was with working a satarday so moved to a building company servicing the work vans nd keeping them road worthy. We do work on lorrys and mechines but I don't really like working on the lorrys nd that but needs to be done

  6. I enjoy doing trucks up to 7.5ton, but after that i feel everything is really hard going!
I prefer working on vans, but usually when i get big units to work on its diagnostic work now, so spend most of my time checking can lines and wiring. Lol

  7. Aye I hate it just done a clutch on a man hook loader the other day and used our big crane to hold the gearbox up but it's just not fun ha would rather just stick with vans but u know yourself u just need to get the work done and get on with it as it pays the bills ha

  8. Yep, i had to do a clutch on a 35 foot rigid lorry with a crane last weekend and out gearbox jacks knackered, what a nightmare that was trying to get the input shaft lined up when the box wont tilt!
the clutch weighs more than me! Haha

  9. Lmao to that last part they are bloody heavy tho haha. Aye it's just a total nightmare ha. Where isit ur from mate?

  10. From Edinburgh area!
The gearboxes are ridiculously heavy and a complete nightmare when the equipment doesnt work! Also the bluetooth lifts wouldn't connect, so had to do it on the deck!
Joys of working on trucks i guess!

Any future plans for the car mate? Love reading through folks blogs and watching cars develop, definitely my favourite part of the site

  11. Yeah we have an outside put but with being 6 foot 4 I need to duck ha. Yeah well iv done a fair bit already so after the terraclean I'll save and go for injectors and another map. Then see how it goes after that ill always wanna spend more ha. What about you? What sort of power is yours running bet it's an animal. Aye I do love the blogs it's brilliant for ideas and how folk have gone about doing things

  12. An outdoor pit? Stuff that mate, i dont like the cold! Ha.
630cc injectors is always a good idea if your pushing around the 270bhp mark, but an expensive upgrade for very little gain.
modding gets addictive and you find yourself buying stuff just for the sake of it. Haha.

iv just ordered cooksport springs, new engine mounts, driveshaft parts, etc, so ill get some new front shocks and set about rebuilding the front end, as most parts have done 42,000 miles, so time for a refresh.
my car runs ok at 315bhp and 330lbft! Im going to tweak a few bits and see if i can get 330bhp.

  13. Aye but it's no a pit in the ground it's a concrete ramp ha aye it is cold was out init today and it was freezing and torrential rain ha.. Aw ano the feeling I ushually try nd look for a deal even if it's like 15 quid off I think aw bargain so buy it and make myself feel better ha. I spoke to the guy who mapped my car but he says he can't do the injectors so when I'm at ecotune I'll ask them if they can do it and see what else they can do with the car. Aye that's no bad u must have spent a fortune on yours. Bet it goes well do u do track days or that. Do u get all ur mapping ect done at rs tuning?

  14. Im glad i work in a heated workshop! Hate working outside this time of year...on call this weekend, so just waiting on the phone going. Haha.
I dont even try and justify saving money or getting bargains now, as long as i get a few quid of retail im happy. Spent around £400 on the car yesterday and tried hiding it from the missus, then just gave up and told her, she replied "ok, cool"

Yeah spent a small fortune on the car now but i dont smoke or drink, so spend my spare cash on tools and car parts. Haha.
I only trust paul at RSTuning and wont even let anyone near it unless i need tyres or something painted. Car gets motd by the same person every year, just to make sure it doesnt get abused.
The problem with the bigger injectors is the fuel gauge and as far as i know paul is the only one to figure out how to calibrate them.

  15. Aw great a hated workshop we have hee hae if day at times it's warmer outside than in our workshop ha. Aye least u get to be on call I take it they supply u with a work van ect. Aye I don't drink but I have an expensive addiction to redbull lol. Aye a ushually tell the misses bt there is some stuff I don't and fit when she is at work. Aye see it's just really the travel to Leeds he qoted me 650 +vat for injectors and a map. What happends to the fuel gadge.

  16. We have breakdown vans, so i just take the newest one when I'm on call. Normally get called out at 1am to change a bulb in Berwick upon Tweed!!
Ha, same here mate. Even my tool box matches my favourite beverage. Haha.

Counted the receipts last week after a facebook discussion and iv spent £13,834 on maintenance and mods, this DOESNT include servicing, tyres, mots or taxing the car and after yesterdays spend im over the £14k mark, so no point hiding it from the missus. Lol.

Ivmade that trip loads of times with my car, either for mapping or picking up parts. Ill be back down on the 14th with my mate as hes getting his 250 mapped.
£650 is a decent price when he will need unlock codes for your ecu, supply and fit injectors, etc.
The fuel gauge will read wrong and the gauge will sit in the wrong position, so you think you have fuel and you dont!

  17. Aw stuff tht gettn called out just for a bulb ha. Jeso man that's a fair amount we worked out that in 4 years that's what I spend on redbull and that's depressing ha. Bt a dno how much iv spent but it's a hobby and a hobby is expensive ha. Aye ill just save and maby get I done in the summer or somthn then itl be rods and flywheel ect after that. Awryt a didn't know that. Was reading ur thread did u get another turbo after ur hybrid to match ur cams

  18. Save up mate and go see paul, but youll get hooked and want to keep spending money! Everytime im down i get it tight and specky tells me to buy a real mans turbo, but 450bhp in a meagne is too much i think.
Sticking with the hybrid at the moment, got a few bits to change and tweak and ill head back down in the summer for another mapping session...hooefully see 330bhp or more if he can turn the boost up.
yeah the fuel gauge reads just over the 1/4 tank with the 630cc injectors when your empty, so i would go see paul, also if your going single mass he can map the engine management light out.
That averages at £9.61 a day on red bull, so not that bad. I buy multipacks to save a bit of money. Lol.

I didnt think anyone read my blog...car was meant to stay standard! Ha.

  19. Aye ano man am always spending my money onit soon as I have any spare cash am buyn stuff ha. Aye a used to buy multipacks bt a end up just drinkn them all that day ha. Aye shame about ur engine to start with bt uv done well with ur car mate looks minted

  20. [IMG][IMG]
New pipercross filter and hose fitted

  21. That pipe looks somuch better than the oem unit!
Always great fun putting the hose onto the turbo and tightening the jubilee clip.

does the car feel any better with the bigger filter?

  22. Aw god ha it was a right paid ha bt I used my juber doober so wasn't as bad ha . tbh I haven't really noticed as I already has quite a big itg filter took it out the road just feels as quick as it was lol

  23. *pain

  24. Nice car man, the hoses look sweet, have you just bought a length of universal stuff in blue?

  25. Thanks mate just needs more power and a tidy up. Yes mate sure did just to add some colour in there got some 4 and 6mm hose and used tht u thinkn of doing the same?

  26. Haha you read my mind on sizes! ye I am going to try brighten it up a little under there, just unsure what to go for as I have a LY but struggle to get the samco bits and bobs in certain colours. Blue always looks cool though so you may be seeing something similar to your own! Haha cheers

  27. Ebay they might have yellow? It does make a good difference for looks wise. I just picked up some blue vac hose from halfords to try it and it looked decent so that's what's on it. No bother mate :d

  28. Ye there's all sorts of colours in small hoses but when you get to the intake and t piece ones they aren't so common.

  29. Aye all myn are eather 4 or 6mm mate

  30. Just had the car on the rolling road at ecotune. 281hp with 306nm running slightly rich tho so will be going back for more power :d

  31. Where you from mate?
What did it make on the rollers?7

***Edit: just noticed on previous page***

  32. From argyll mate Lochgilphead. It made 281bhp and 306nm running slightly rich so gawne get it mapped again in the summer but he says of he turned the fueling down I'd be about 290

  33. Good returns mate.
    Another Scot then.
Be good for sorting a meet in the summer

  34. Aye need more tho need another map to sort fueling but think if I'm payn for another map id be aswrll doing turbo and injectors so that's for the summer time :d. Aye you never seem to see any of these cars around so will be strange to see a team of us ha

  35. Did u have a good day at rs tuning?

  36. Yeah mate it was good.
Glad to have a map on the car that i trust, which also improves the performance of the car.
Are Ecotune in Hillington? Heard a lot of good things about them too.

  37. Aye decent was just looking through ur build tread looking good mate cars mint eh. Aye mate in hillington my mate got his Vxr mapped there last week so he got 295bhp with 375nm so can't have him beating me so I shall be spending ha. Didn't get myn mapped there tho got myn mapped at ves sport last year was just gtn terraclean and a few dyno runs at ecotune but I'll be going back in the summer for mapping.

  38. That's really good results eh! You'll still have him in the twistys.
Thanks mate, it's coming a long nicely. Few wee silly dings that frustrate me but nothing major.
    Drives really well (Touch wood)
Springs are next to go on and then when i need new brakes i'll upgrade but very happy with it at the moment.
Really good results for your Megane too. Think your induction kit will have made a bit of a difference over the panel filter.

  39. Aye but he will have me on the straights ha would rather have him straights and twists haha. Aye cheers mate. Aye iv always had an induction kit had an itg but ordered a pipercross when I got my blue turbo to airfilter hose so it was all new. Mtec do brakes brilliant prices got front and rear discs and pads drilled and grooved for under 300
