    Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone else has had a problem with a HEL braided clutch line not fitting correctly .

I recently went about fitting mine to my facelift rs 265 and noticed when bleeding the clutch it blew off the slave cylinder connection . On closer inspection the cutout on the HEL fitting for the wire clip is out of line slightly with the cutout on the slave cylinder connection , not allowing the wire clip to fully seat . I tried both ends of the clutch line out of curiousity and no does not line up 100% allowing for the new braided line to be pulled out by hand or blown off by clutch fluid pressure .

The slave cylinder is a genuine Renault part and the new HEL clutch line was in as far as it can go .

Thinking the line has the incorrect fittings I had a google and others available on the net show the same hydraulic fittings as mine .

    Any insight is appreciated !

It sounds if it's had a non genuine slave fitted, I had the same years ago, I pulled off the second adapter from slave and then mine fitted OK, yours might be a different after market one.

    Just a thought

Good thought . I did replace the clutch and slave cylinder with new genuine Renault parts 2 or 3 yrs ago and used the new plastic tube that came with the cylinder .

Bit of a strange one as its very close to fitting correctly

  4. Referring to photo - did you connect HEL line into A or B?

  5. I had the same problem in mine, stock slave. After many attemps, finaly decided to reduce the HEL fitting in his base, then it fit correct and softly with no leaks or problems at all.

I tried both to see at first , starting with connection B , but if i remember it was not fitting there at all correctly . It was only close to fitting at connection A

Interesting ! I did think of reducing the shoulder height on the HEL fitting to allow it to insert deeper . To be honest , these days , I hate having to alter parts that should fit correctly without worry , especially a part that could leave you stranded on the roadside or trackday .

I daily drive the car so when attempting to fit , I had to rush to fit everything back together , hence no pictures or measurements .

I will send HEL an email to see if they are aware of this
