  1. you need to tap the threads out to a m6 fitment.

The dimension marked with "A" is the one I'm after. Im sure you could measure one you have and would be very thankful.

  3. Come on then when we gonna get one for the 250

  4. the picture that doesnt work[IMG]

  5. Why do you need to measure this it shouldn't change your linkage should go straight back on i believe they just move this bolt so the one you get will just be the same size as the one you take off

  6. firs, i wont buy as i can do the job my self and would rather pay someone for idea than to pay twice for the postage. (i think I'm up for the job as i have just refited a new turbo my self etc)

I want to pre order my ball stud with M8 tread instead of the M6 we can taper on the current stud that gets pressed out. and want the info on the ball diameter so I don't have to take half of the car apart twice.

  7. Tbh I think it's a bargain I wouldn't think its worth doing when u can buy it so cheap but it's up yo you I'm buying one at some point in the next two or three months it's on my list of wanted mods

  8. I have the earlier type of linkage which only requires a new hole and a ball stud in the hole, doesn't require any other machining, and for half an hour job plus fitting i wont pay 30€ for the postage to me and for the return + the price to Andrew.

  9. IMO it's the best mod you can do for your R26. It totally transforms the gearshift and makes it a whole lot more enjoyable to drive.

  10. different linkage...i thought the 250`s gearshift was a lot better than the previous genaration..

It is, Doesn't need a short shift

  12. Sure the linkage is more direct and tighter but the throw is still quite long.

  13. as no one seem to know, and I finally got some time, i measured it and it is the 10mm type.

  14. do you know where to machine the hole?
and how high you have to raise the ball stud,to the correct level?

You cant just drill a hole, and put it in..you have to be precise ,hence the jig and cnc machine i use.

  15. Andrew i only have to dril the hole as i have the simpler (older version) , I wouldn't atempt it my self on the newer ones.
I will keep the same hight as is currently.

Ps: your work is much apretiated.

  16. Ok i already pm'd andrew about this, bout maybe anyone else had this problem when fitting the short shift from Andrew. When you come to the point you need to pull out the actuator from the gearbox, it seems something is blocking it. It comes up about half an inch but it won't come any further. I have the gear in neutral before anyone asks

Andrewjeffs are these available for the DCI?

  18. classic mistake..14mm locking bolt left in..i have pm`d you instructions

  19. afraid not..not the same ndo gearbox as fitted to petrol meganesports..linkage wont fit.

  20. You must raise thes stud with a washer to the original height of the standard ballstud,as you are further down the arm, which is thinner metal,
so your cable will be straining at a angle instead of moving straight, and in time will wear out your ball/socket connector.

I still dont know how you know where to put the hole?
We use a jig on our cnc machine to get the calculations right.
It has to be very precise to work correct...you will also have to tap a thread into the new ballstud postion, lock tight it in,then peen over the stud to stop it working
    loose in time..

A messed up linkage costs £128 to replace from renault...i know of a guy who had 5 machined...all wrong...expensive scrap metal!

Ok thanks for reply, I'll have to search about to see if someone makes one, if you ever do one for a DCI il be first to buy

    Well worth it
    Cheers

  27. Just this morning had the Andrew Jeffs short shift conversion fitted by Andrew and his team in North Devon. One word, 'Brilliant'. What a difference for such a small outlay, surely the most cost effective modification by far. The service offered is superb, don't even think about it, just do it.............

  28. Im a bit confused here, My megane at times seems to have quite a short shift, not that 'long' at all, but then after a while if I floor the car a few times I get the 'long and sloppy' gear change. Wondering if maybe the car has a SS but it isnt functioning properly or just a weird gearbox?

  29. I doubt it,there are not any traditional gearbox end shortshifts available for the megane..if its gearbox end..tske out the battery, and post up a picture of the linkage..i can tell you in seconds if you have one.

  30. A pleasure to deal with the 2 guys that came up today,2 sensible, well mannered fellas...cheers lads
