Standard injector %

  1. What will they be running at on a stage 1 as I've been thinking about banging a set of 630s in

  2. Depending on power i reckon your running around 85% injector duty cycle.

Mine was 101% duty cycle at 276bhp

  3. Was that stage 2? Thinkn of getting some very soon

  4. That was my stage 2 and the injectors were maxed out! Stage 1 wont be far off 85%.
630cc injectors are good for 360bhp.

  5. Oh I'm stage 2 on standard injectors prob a wise idea to get them then aswrll as rod bolts eh?

  6. 260 bhp Steven

  7. The standard injectors will be fine mate.
The biggest problem you will have is fuel surge on track, but bigger injectors wont help.

Alot of injectors need to run a minimum duty cycle (we will say 70% for talking sake) if its under the minimum set-point the fuel wont spray properly and can do more harm than good.

Did Ed not sort you out last year with refurbished units?

  8. Depends on power mate.
I would just change the pistons and rods. Lol

  9. Find out on satarday at ecotune mate ano but it's all mega money which I don't have ha was thinkn buy a spare turbo and get that hybrid for now then maby pistons and rods next year

  10. iv got a spare turbo
    Wheres ecotune?

  11. Would u sell it? Hillington mate near breahead

  12. Its for sale...£100.

Im off work next weekend, so might pop through if i have time. (Rstuning on friday, ecotune saturday and holiday sunday, sounds good to me  )

  13. I'll take the turbo next satarday mate if u come to ecotune I'm stayn the night down in Glasgow Friday so eather then or satarday mate take it the turbos ok?

  14. The turbo was on my car with no issues, has some cracking in the turbine collector, but find one that doesnt. Lol.

I stay in livingston, so 40 minutes drive to braehead.

  15. Ed did sort me out yes, it was just a thought that's all, how long do they stay clean for

  16. Did ur hybrid one have a crack? Can that be fixed?

  17. Sorry to take over this thread btw if u could pm ur number Steven and we can arrange things

  18. No problem at all , bet your glad I started it lol

  19. Sure am mate ha. U going stage 2 Steve ?

  20. No I'll be sticking with stage 1, I have spoken to mark black about building me a forged engine, only then would I go more power along with an hybrid turbo I would have to find another engine for mark to build so that the standard one can go with the car if ever I decide to sell it, can't see that happening anytime soon though, I'm always on the look out for another every day car so I can keep the miles down on the R , I'm thinking another sti or an M3

  21. Aye wish I had the money for a forged engine never mind an m3 lol

  22. You can get an M3 for around 8k, my R sits in the garage with a cover on it and I can't be bothered to get it out just to go for a quick blast and I never leave the R parked up anywhere , not the same taking the mrs brand new 116i , just wingers about the petrol lol

  23. Aye ano shame in only 23 and a mechanic lol only have say 500 left a month after mortgage ect comes off can't see me gtn an m3 anytime soon lol

  24. I wish I was 23, I'm 45 in 9 days

  25. Well I'm 23 on the 17th of few but thot I'd start sayn it early ha.

  26. Lee Scunny says the injectors are nearly maxed out on stage 1

  27. 41 with 6 kids 5 grandkids morgage ECT!! Never afford petrol let alone as other car lol

  28. Steve, daft spending all that brass to run a weedy hybrid on it. You want a 3071 on it ideally.

Also the injectors are good to around 280ish BHP , thats what mine are at and Paul @ RST says they are within the limits he is happy with.

  29. Cheers Andy, did you like my pics

  30. Yes ! Very much so ! So did others. Should be quite a wide range of cars , old and new generation on there.

  31. Thats a forged engine, plus cams and £5000 worth of turbo, fuel system and mapping!
Hybrid would be enough on track in my opinion...but you've been in a megane with 75bhp more than i have, so you will have more of an idea on power delivery, traction, etc.

I would still think standard injectors at 1.1bar will be around 85% duty cycle, but i guess only Paul will know for sure.
Stage 2 has a 25% boost increase, so where does the extra fuel come from if the injectors are maxed at stage 1?

  32. What are you getting done at Ecotune? Stan mapped my 123d.

I was as considering getting him to map my 250 but decided to go a wee joint to RS tuning thanks to the group buy.

  33. Getting it put on the rollers then they will terraclean my engine and then do an after dyno and see if Thers anythn they can do with it see how my map is ect as I got it mapped elsewhere last year so just wanna know what power I have and see what else I should buy. But think next is hybrid and injectors and rod bolts for just now. My mate got his Vxr mapped by Stan on Friday an it is a bit of an animal now

  34. Does terraclean actually work? Or will you find out on Saturday?

  35. I dont see the point in forging the engine , then putting a small turbo on fella. Doesnt seem value for money in my opinion. You also dont need a fuel system till around 400bhp from what I understand.

I dont think they are maxxed out though ? I have filter , decat , intercooler , center box chip ( not that it makes a great deal of difference ) and run 275bhp and 300ib ft. No larger injectors needed.

  36. They said they done a Mini Cooper the other day and it gained 20hp just with all the crap built up so I'm quessing so but I'll find out myself on satarday lol

  37. Wow! I'd be tempted to come through just see what the gain is.

  38. Aye well I'm booked in for half 9 mate so u should come through I mean I might not gain anything just depends but atleast I'll know it's all clean and the injectors will be clean valves ect

  39. I thought the Megs were starved of fuel. I'm sure pauls said that before and I see a few people updating their systems

  40. Stage 1 and stage 2 are alost eaven regards the IDC as on stage 1 the car is run a little richer on top.On stage 2 AFR is 12 and on stage 1 the AFR can go below 11 on top.IDC is aymed around 95 % if injectors and fuel pump is in good condition.Boost vise there is very little room for improvement betwean stage 1 and stage 2.10 HP on top of stage 1 comes from 0.1 bar more boost (WDC@99 %), leaner AFR and ignition timing to match.
