Bottom Arm Tool

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by Joosh, Jun 5, 2023.

  1. Hi everyone

I’ve gotta attack my bottom arm ball joints on my 250 soon and I really don’t wanna have to pay 160 quid for the proper tool to do them..

Does anyone have a hack for doing them that doesn’t involve welding things to them, or, does anyone actually have the tool that they’d be willing to sell or loan to me?

    Cheers
    Josh

The best way i found was a pair of 18inch or two foot Stilsons, but you really need a big washer or plate on the other side with a nut holding it tight to hold the Stilsons against the side.

Not the best pic, but you can get an idea, also need a good vice and some heat

  3. Thanks for the reply mate.

I ended up trawling through some old posts on here and finding a recommendation for some new bottom arms that came with the ball joint in them. Just have to muster up the courage to attempt the swivel joints next..

    Thanks again
    Josh
