My headlight units won't seem to secure in without still having movement once the two bolts and pin are fixed in. Am I being stupid or is this a common issue? Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.
I had the same problem last year. I wrapped some tape around the pin until the headlights felt fixed. If I pull out the bottom of the headlight it still moves like 1 mm. Not sure if they are 100% fixed from factory, I would like to know have it should be. 2015 Megane RS265 Wagner Intercooler Forge Uprated Turbo Recirc Valve van Loon 3" Downpipe incl 200 cell HJS Euro5 3" Scorpion exhaust non-res Engine Dynamics remap Cooksport lowering springs Eibach wheel spacers and bolts: Front: 5mm | Rear: 16mm
Couple of cable ties has sorted it! I appreciate they're easy to remove and in principle a good design, just a shame the parts weren't made more quality in the first place! Thanks for the reply.
If you don´t mind, next time you have opened the bonnet, can you snap a picture showing where you put the cable ties? 2015 Megane RS265 Wagner Intercooler Forge Uprated Turbo Recirc Valve van Loon 3" Downpipe incl 200 cell HJS Euro5 3" Scorpion exhaust non-res Engine Dynamics remap Cooksport lowering springs Eibach wheel spacers and bolts: Front: 5mm | Rear: 16mm
Fit some electrical heat shrink sleeve over the lugs, which locate in the plastic runners underneath. Helps the lugs fit the runners more snugly - no more vibrating headlights. Think I did two layers of shrink sleeve on one of the lugs - very tidy solution. just test fit and if not happy just cut it off again no probs.
If anyone in the future want some guidance, here’s how I did it. I didn’t have any heat skrink sleeve in the right size so I used vulcansing tape. Check headlight alignment before you remove the headlights. When the headlights have been pulled out a bit, pull the headlight like the arrow to get it out. I put some cloth around the fender to protect the paint. There are two connectors, disconnect them. Here are the three lugs. I used vulcansing tape, 0,7 mm thick. Electrical tape was used to secure the vulcansing tape. The length of the vulcansing tape is shown in the picture. I tried 150 mm on all of them but one didn’t like that, 80 mm seems to work.
