  1. Hey guys,

Just posting out of curiosity here to get another perspective from across the pond. Have you guys noticed An increasing volume of ECU failure on facelifted late model rs265/275s? In Australia it seems that every few weeks there seems to be one I’m hearing about failing, like there is a plague of bad Ecus in these cars. It does not seem to impact pre facelift models as they seem to have a cover/air duct over the ecu that keeps it cool… that’s the theory anyway. Are you guys noticing the same thing over there?

I believe there have been an odd one or two, but as its a bit cooler here than where you are could be the reason.

On the 250's and the pre facelift 265 cars, there was a duct that directed air from the front of the car to the ECU to keep it cool, Renault did away with this on the facelift cars.
I think you need to retro fit something.

  3. Yeah I did notice there is a duct on the pre facelift cars but it will require me modifying the plastic trim panel under the bonnet to get the airflow through the snorkel. I'm a bit lazy so I was contemplating buying a large heatsink off aliexpress and adhering it to the ecu case using thermal glue to help dissipate heat. Don't think anyone has attempted this yet.

    DOOOOK likes this.
  4. When you say failure, what happens, just won't start or other symptoms?

  5. Car just dies and switches off, won’t start up and OBDII scan tool can’t detect anything.
