Hi All, please see below my alignment on the rear, i think as im going more track focused id like -1.5 on the rears but not quite sure on toe. I have been told that a -0.10 is good on the rear but wouldn't mind some suggestions. I was looking at the these: https://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=6830. What do i need
but also as a side note, am i now toeing in on the front? i asked the garage for 0.05 toe out and just left them to it, im now thinking that toe out should be negative -0.05? hmmm have they set this wrong....
Hi, Looks like your tracking has been adjusted to toe out, this needs to be readjusted so that it toe's in to 0.05. ( negative ) Once this has been adjusted then see what your front camber reads, this will move when making adjustments. Don't forget that there is 60 minutes to 1 degree, so your right camber is only 20 minutes from being identical. The rear will need 60 minute shims ( 4 notches ) both sides to reach your -1.50 camber. The same goes with the rear it's worth waiting and rechecked the toe once you've fitted the shims. My rear toe is around +0.20 and the car still feels like it's on rails. if you still need or want to adjust the rear toe you will need further shims, these are not that cheap. Also make sure you have the correct 1/2 inch female torx socket for the rear hub bolts, i would also recommend a 1/2 inch 50mm extension bar to make sure you get a good purchase. Each bolt is £11 each. Kev
Hi Kev, thank you for the information. So a 0.05 toe out is what i was looking for, giving a better turn in rather than stability. So on this case its correct? However im thinking if i wanted toe out it would be a negative 0.05?
Gents, My bag, i've just double checked and negative toe is toe out. So car is currently running 0.50 toe in. ( + positive ) sorry for the confusion. Needs to be adjusted. Going back to sleep.
Kev the info on the shims were spot on. I'm also now clear that they have set me to toe in rather than out. I mean in out in out shake it all about we do the..... sorry abit carried away. Will get this re adjusted tomorrow and check where we're at
At least the shim info was good, the amount of work on mine and in the past i really should know better. Cheers Mate.
Yeah it should read -0.05 toe not +0.05 I’d adjust your camber first to where you want it as it will throw the toe out if done afterwards.
I swear my brain is hurting. When Im looking at the pure motorsport shims I like you were thinking the 1 degree 4 notch were needed for each side. However with me know becoming an expert over night with the amount of googling I think actually adding 1 degree is wrong. So 60 minutes is 1 degree, the rears on mine are showing 50 minutes which is almost a degree already. So to get to my desired -1.5 degrees on the rear I actually need to be a -1.30 minutes which would be an additional 40 minutes per side. To achieve this im going to need to order 2 x 30 and 2 x 10 so each side has one of each giving me the -1.30 minutes or -1.5 degrees of camber. Am i right? i think i am......
