Hi all i have been repaired cars since 13 years old so i am very handy with tools. I just picked up a megane 3 250 RS. Problems: check esp, abs and braking system No cruise control or limiter says chec cc or sl. Clip read, CC 12v short i could delete all other faults but cruise control remained active on clip. I started with fuses then replaced the slipring or clockspring. Working working again. No fuses blown if the horn is working then the clockspring is fine. Replaced brake switch and clutch switch heres a very weird thing, there only 2 ways for the esp abs system error comes up. You need need to drive fast 6000 rpm or those errors only come on the dash if i reverse the car. Driving forward with normal speed does NOT bring up those errors I meed cruise control badly and im stumped i honestly dont know where to look anymore used all advice on the internet, no luck. Battery is brand new. After clockspring replacement i had reset with CLIP Cc and SL were the only active errors all others were cleared what can i look for having covered the basics. Is CC linked to other curcuits or functions. Please help me im lost. Thank you inadvace
Funnily enough, ever since i put the car on a rolling road, i have a check abs warning when i reverse (occasionally). My white DCI 1.5 has a cruise control fault every so often. A few ons and offs sort it out, I've put it down to the car being French and easily surrenderable
ABS sensor or the magnetic ring on the bearings, they attract bits of rust then give bad signals to the ecu. Also if you cave clip, then you can do a pulse check on each wheel, its something like 40 pulses per revolution, it does tell you though
Yes, as it uses the signals from the wheel sensors for traction control, abs, stability control and both cruise and speed limiter
Thanks, I will do that later today, wheels off sensors out, can I clean it with carb cleaner? or electrical cleaner(the sensor and rings)
wheel speed sensors cleaned, replacing battery now, will update if anything changes if nothing changes, ill try get to the abs unit and clean the plug connector, i recall on my 225 when they did a down pipe these same errors came up, turned out the connector wasnt plugged in properly and some pins werent making contact, unplugged it cleaned it and everything worked no more errors at all for a year till i upgraded to this 250, feel like i made a mistake considering i had to pay in R80k (SA RAND) for the RS mk3. 225 was way less off a hassle.
