First Post - Modified Megane 275 Owner, Cardiff

Discussion in 'New to the Club? Why not introduce yourself?' started by SceneCleanValeting-Aaron, Aug 8, 2021.

  1. Evening all,

I'm Aaron, based in Barry / Penarth and have been a member of the forum since purchasing my LY 275 back in April this year. Although this is my first post on the forum.

Just a little background of myself - I'm 28 and the Megane is the most expensive, fastest, most powerful and also brightest car I've owned to date. I've a background of modified cars which started with my first car - a 1999 Volkswagen Polo 6n that over 5-6 years transformed it into JDM-themed showcar with a full 6n2 GTI engine conversion, running gear and dashboard conversion. (If I can find some photo's I'll add them in).

I own myown Detailing Business, Scene Clean Valeting, based in Penarth town centre and have always loved the Renault Sport stuff, just never been brave enough to make the jump until I had a MK3 Trophy-R in for some PPF work and totally fell in love.

The car was previously owned by someone who I would imagine is part of the forum, but haven't checked, the car is often recognized on the Megane facebook groups etc.

I thought I'd say hello, and hopefully network with some other Meg owners in South Wales in the hope for some drives and meet ups in the future. Got my first Trackday @ Castle Combe booked September 10th and am both excited and nervous.

I look forward to sharing some progress of the car with you all.

    Best, Aaron

  2. hi and welcome, nice car you've got there, really nice colour and combo with black wheels and accents, suits it really well

  3. And unsurprisingly looks really clean :grinning:

  4. Lovely car you have there. A few of us are at Anglesea on the 15th Sept, pop up if you have the time.

  5. that will be a 3-4 hour drive from Barry

Nice motor. Looks very similar to another yellow megane i know of.... (minus the little lip spoiler)

  6. 3/4 hour drive?. I come from N/E Scotland, 560 miles away, around 10 hours drive, and 81 years old, come on young mr Spoon, no excuses.

  7. You sir might have the luxury of a little more time

  8. I fully understand most people do not have the Luxury of time as do, and be accountable to nobody as I am. Stay well.

  9. im only jealous

  10. Your are jealous of my Arthritic Knee/Hip/Thumb/bad limp?..... I could go on,( Please Don't!.) To see me fall into the car, and crawl out, what a picture.I do have help though, I have a good friend who helps me, by walking in front of the car, with a red flag, and so far, I have never been in the gravel, or gone on the grass, so it is not all bad.

  11. I like those red flag days. We should bring them back

  12. Thank you - The wheels are actually gunmetal, in desperate need of a refurb as the fronts are baked with brake pad deposits from the Winmax pads previously installed. Thinking of sticking to gunmetal or going for a shadow-chrome effect where its black but turns gunmetal when light hits it.

It's good from a far and far from good. Lots needs to be done, but will be my winter project when it gets tucked away. Paint correction, wheel refurb, a few extra goodies etc.

Unfortunately anything on a Mon-Fri basis this side of new year is out of the question. I have a trackday (my first one!) at Castle Combe 10th September but other than that my work diary is hectic until December which is both great and a pain.
