Alarm constant beep

  1. So I washed the car today and somehow I've got a constant beep when I lock the car.
I can't find any of the door, boot or bonnet switches, so any help pointing out where they are would be super.

There is a YouTube video showing how to turn off the alarm, I've had no success.

I disconnected the battery after this happened to try and reset the alarm. No joy.

Hopefully someone knows how to help..
    Thanks in advance

  2. Ok so I found a thread with a manual of sorts. Long continuos beep is the bonnet... Could do with locating that bonnet pin sensor.

  3. Further update, I've dug under the bonnet catch to find it not connected. Looks like scuttle panel is coming off tomorrow for a nosey. I'm hoping it is that simple!

  4. Ok so I've not been able to find the connection for the sensor. But I am visiting Renault tomorrow for the splitter so I'll ask them. Otherwise I think I've turned my alarm off for now.

  5. It's usually the bonnet sensor... but then confirm if the alarm is on or not! it is always necessary

  6. I've disabled the alarm for now. I'll take the bonnet catch out to see if I can locate the bonnet sensor plug. I've got the bonnet catch end, but not where it plugs into.

  7. Any updates on this.

We had torrential downpour on Friday and the Alarm went off after it.

I opened the doors an closed them, tried again, ok for a minute or two then Alarm goes off. Tried the boot, same things again. Eventually opened the Bonnet, closed it to the catch but didn't press it shut properly, no issue at all.

I guess there is a Sensor for the Bonnet?

Any pointers to where it is located and are they an easy swap?

    Thanks

  8. Yes the sensor is easy to locate.

Open the bonnet and find the bonnet catch, the car side not the bonnet side. Follow across the front until you get to the wing. Coming down the wing and across where your hand has been is where the bonnet connector is for the alarm.

  9. Do I disconnect this, dry it or get a new one?

    Thanks

  10. disconnect and then connect it back up.

There is a way of turning the alarm off.

    temporary measure.

  11. Is that procedure just for the MK3?

  12. ive never had a mk2 so no idea
